Good news, Fellow MINI Cooper S "owners in waiting"!!!

I just finished watching "Autoweek" (on the Speed Channel), and they reported that next month BMW (USA) would announce the official "Works" upgrades (200HP) for the MCS! And here's the good part: it will have a full factory warrantee coverage, and will be available to both existing MCS owners, AND will be able to be ordered as a Factory Option on NEW CARS!!! I've been waiting since last July ('02) for my MCS with Long Beach MINI, and my number is supposed to come up in about May of this year (delivery 2 months later). It looks like I may get BOTH the DVD GPS, and the Works 200HP engine option.

I'll hold my breath, but this looks as close to "official" recognition of the 200HP option for those of us here in the US as it's likely to get.

Congratulations-- see, good things DO come to those who wait! Since I didn't wait, however, I'm pleased that you're on the left coast, as I won't immediately have to worry about someone blowing by me on the highway, at speed.
