Driving lights theft

My '06 cooper s should be at the dealer soon. I would like to get the driving lights installed. Has anyone had their driving lights stolen off their car? Are they easy to steal? They are $1000 installed, a kinda expensive investment if they are easy to steal.

Nope but there is a huge market for those Xenons

I would ask around to find somebody in your area who will install them for FAR less than $600. I paid $270 for the kit from Morristown mini on ebay and installed them myself for free. I'm sure you could find someone to help you out and save you a lot of money.

I think he's referring to the headlights.

Never had a driving/fog light stolen off of anything. There are theft-proof bolts available (google Cibie to find a vendor).

You're paying $1000 for lights? The PIAA kit is ~$250 and can be easily installed in a couple of hours.

While the Mini Xenons are expensive, there is not a large market for them as they only fit on Mini's - whereas the Xenons found in Lexus will fit on other Lexus and Toyotas and the Xenons in Acuras will fit on other Acuras and Hondas, etc. Not sure about fitmet with the Mini driving lights, but I haven't heard it being an issue.

I agree with the others, $1k for driving lights is on the high side.

Ya everbody, I was quoted $1,080 for the installation of the two driving lights (not xenons) on my new cooper s. The PIAA lights sound like a better deal. $1080 is high.

Look at Cibie and Hella lights as well. I have used both brands in the past with good results. I bought the joke OEM MINI Driving Lights and shortly thereafter swapped them for the Cibies.
