It is SO universal...whenever I am with any MINI owner....and we spot another MINI....we almost always shout out "MINI!" simultaneously! I never shout out "Corvette!" or "Trooper!"

My MINI is a weekend toy that has been sitting in my garage for several months since I drive my VW Jetta for everyday use. I actually hate big SUVs myself but the FX35 has the 280 hp 3.5 liter 24-valve V6 Nissan Z350 engine, which gets 17 and 23 MPG - much better than my VW Jetta has EVER managed and honestly pretty close to what my S averages. It has a 112” wheelbase and is only 189 inches long, very close to the Jetta in size. I rented one and found it to handle EXTREMELY well as it was built on the Z-platform. I just don’t find the MINI comfortable to drive everyday and it's taking up space in my garage where a classic Mini could be sitting. I think it is time to move on.

I love the exterior styling of the FX35, but Nissan and their interiors.....

What's the theme here??? The upper center console looks like it came from an early 80's Buick while the lower portion looks like it was lifted from a Flash Gordon set.

I drove one once and had a good time. It wasn't MINI good, but it was still "interesting". If you're buying an SUV that's without a doubt the right one to get. It's awful off road, but is that what you really want to do?

Well....I didn't realize you don't really use your MINI, Rick. Not comfortable? Do you drive it enough to have perfectly adjusted the seat? I'm surprised that you'd want to continue driving cars that get such poor mpg. Good luck with whatever you do.

Keep the MINI! I'd rather have my MCS over a Porsche 911 Turbo. No kidding.

Are you carrying vast supplies of lumber on top of your Jetta??? Leif has one and it consistently puts my S to shame in the MPG department...

I didn’t say that I don’t like the MINI. My ex-roommate was an exotic car broker in Beverly Hills. I’ve driven nearly every single sports car out there from a ’59 Ferrari to a quad turbo Porsche to a new Lamborghini so I can say that the MINI is the most fun you can have for less than $100,000, with the obvious exception of the classic Mini. But with the type of work I do (real estate) combined with my back problems and fibromyalgia issues, the MINI just isn’t practical as a daily driver FOR ME.

rick- my next door neighbor (26) is a real estate broker and he has a M45.

i think the INF's do well in that industry as far as image... go for it!
i was about to get one too (FX35 AWD) for my commuter.

Kinda sounds like your mind is set already so I don't think there really is a chance of talking you out of it.

I hope you try some sport wagons or sedans that will work well and have as good or better specs. Aside from my opinion about on-road SUVs I think the FX is about due for a facelift/upgrade so you also may want to take that into consideration.

Ok, your choice to get rid of the Mini makes sense now. Might I recommend a car for you to look at? The New Passat 3.6 4-Motion.. That thing has grunt, looks, quality AND comfort!

I left work early and took the MINI for a drive today. I decided that I can't part with it.

"JUMP...JUMP...JUMP!!!"...chants the crowd below No seriously Rick...I was in an appliance shop recently and saw this awsome Sub Zero refrigerator and came really close to selling Msfitoy. I mean, that brick machine was so sexy...I was getting weaker by the moment and I had to beg my wife to drag me out of there...no seriously...I'm glad you came to your senses

Good move...

Isn't the fx35 just a pimped out Murano? A station wagon!!! Geez! Heck, my wife and I have 2 kids and our biggest car is a Jetta which my wife wants to replace eventually with a cabrio beetle!!! Who says families need a family car!!! As long as you can fit in a couple of booster seats you are good to go!

For that 1 time a year that you need something bigger... Enterprise!!!

I'm glad that you are keeping your MINI, sweetie. Now figure out a comfy seating position for yourself in it!
