Our dealer............

sent us a fleece blanket. When I called them to find out what MCC they had in stock they had one almost to my specs that I was wanting. Except for the chrome roll bar covers and the chrome "bone" piece. I asked my MA if they are seperate parts that I could order and put on myself. She told me no, that those parts are only avail at production. After some searching on roadfly I found the part numbers, and low and behold they were orderable and something that I could easily do myself. So when I went to pickup my MCC I told her that they were avail to buy seperatly. And I had taken her the part numbers so that she wouldnt "misinform" any other customers about these being able to be bought seperatly. So about a week after I had my MCC I received the fleece Mini blanket. Really cool.

So the cake came in the mail???

While I was waiting for my car, my dealer sent me a key chain. Then after I took delivery, they sent me a $50 gift certificate which I used to get the aux plug and the glovebox organizer.

The South Bay Mini Dealer was great, very nice and all. Also they weren't condenscending as me and my bf (young people) went to go purchase the car. I was wondering if anyone else got any other kinds of things from their dealer from buying?
How much over MSRP did you pay? As they say, nothing's free. I didn't get anything with my new MINI S, not even floor mats, but I did pay $2,000 under MSRP and zero tax!

Ooh a fleece blanket is cooler since it last longer lol.. but yeah.. not cool that she misinformed you, the great thing about the MINI is that you can always add mods to it.

They hand delivered it in a bag (A little bit shown in the photo). But wow cool that you got money back!

I think this sounds silly but how do you prevent your mini from being dinged up there in nyc?

I paid MSRP exactly. I got mine for 22,300.. MCS w/ LSD, steering wheel, and IPOD Adapter. Apparently someone ordered the MINI but changed their mind last minute... which was AWESOME for me =D.

You are so lucky to pay under MSRP, I was scared to bargain since I'm so young but yeah.. is the zero tax thing in Germany? or did they cut you a deal?

I live in one of the outter boroughs. My MINI is tucked away safely inside a garage So far, I haven't driven my MINI into Manhattan and don't plan to do so. I usually take public transit.

BMW has a US military sales program. We pay a discounted MSRP and no tax because we're US citizens taking delivery abroad. It's menu shopping just like in the US, but with a discount. If I were to bring my MINI to the states, I could sell it for what I paid 2 years later. I know many people who have done exactly that.

Oops, I mis-spoke. I did get free mats and the aux-adaptor for free - the latter because they forgot that I didn't want it and installed it anyway.

Glad to see some people getting treated nice, and a cake is certainly an interesting gift.

I didn't pay for the install of the bumper protection, and I got a keychain. Oh - I got an amazing ride, but unfortunately monthly payments came with it.

As I opened the boot for the first time, I got surprised with MINI: s.s. travel cup, keyring, cap, and 1/32 model of my car.

When I bought my first MINI in August, 2002 from Long Beach MINI, they gave me a MINI cap and a limited edition tee shirt with the odometer graphic at 000194 (I think), to signify that it was the 194th MINI they'd sold. I also got a nice keychain.

When I bought Wanda in 2003 from LB MINI, they gave me a free set of carpet floor mats, a couple CDs, and a MINI sweatshirt. I kept my rubber floor and boot mat from the first MINI.

I loved purchasing both MINIs there. The MAs work as a team, and I bought at MSRP, too.

I paid MSRP when I got my MCS from Classic MINI in Cleveland, OH in December, '04. They threw in free floormats (my choice of rubber or carpet - I chose rubber) and a Euro parcel shelf, installed. Julie, my MA, also threw in a couple of toy MINIs: a tiny one on the keychain, and a larger one, both in BRG to match my car, and two MINI keyfobs, with Classic MINI engraved on the back.

They also sent in my name to MINI-USA for the "Welcome Kit," which I understand not all dealers do. And I get a Christmas card every year.

And of course, that wonderful 20% discount on parts!

In contrast, specials at my local dealer are a $2500 markup above MSRP and what appears to be a 50% markup on parts. Sheesh!
