R50/53 Anyone purchased/installed the Hamann front spoiler?
I'm in love with the Hamann front spoiler but I'm worried that it sits to low up front. I was wondering if anyone has installed this and whether or not there is enough ground clearance for everyday driving?
Any advice?

i too love the front spoiler, it looks pretty cool, but I am also worried about how low it sits. it looks really really low. it may look better than buyin an aero kit front bumper. also would it work on an aero kit front bumper??

I dont want to go any lower than the stock spolier cause it is the same hight as the little parkingspace cement bits any lower and i KNOW i would end up cracking it on one as opposed to just sitting ontop of them now
I had a '99 Cougar with a ground FX kit, as well as adjustable suspension. I lowered it pretty far. The lowest point on the front lip of the ground FX kit was a little less than 3" off the ground. You just have to adjust your driving habits to stay away from problems. Watch out when going from a level street onto an angled upgrade, like a driveway. You'll have to come in at an angle, not head on. When parking in parking stalls, keep yourself from going all the way in, so as not to hit that concrete block ahead. BTW, you're in a MINI. You shouldn't need to go all the way into a stall anyways.
Other than that, just be careful.
But if you're looking at the pic from the Hamann website, I'm pretty sure that their car has also been lowered as well. So if you don't plan on lowering your car, you shouldn't be too bad out there.
If the Hamann ground FX kit is made of ploy-urethane, it'll stand up to some abuse. If it's fiberglass, than it'll be easier to crack and do damage to.
I think it adds just the right style to the MINI. Very subtle. Gives it a nice stance, as well as the rear lower skirt.
Cheers,
