Here's a picture of the front bumper: (sorry for the bad quality... just a cell phone shot)

Although the top of the shocks appear to be fine, I did notice that right under the spring there is some deformation in the rubber... not sure if this is serious or not. What do you guys think?

The parts themselves actually totalled up to $1k. There are a few things that need to be replaced besides the bumper, including the splash guard and that really big piece of plastic that spans across the entire front of the car behind the bumper (on the sides it connects the splash guard to the bumper). They're going to have to take a lot of things apart and I don't trust myself to do it.
C4--apology accepted, but you were right, I was definitely driving too fast. I'm actually becoming somewhat glad this whole thing happened... sortof woke me up to reality. I don't feel nearly as invincible anymore.

I'm back!
Well, finally after being in the shop for 3 WEEKS my MINI is back in business! (MINI kept sending the wrong parts). It came out to a little over 2k, but it seems to drive just like it did before the accident, and it looks great! There were some scratches on the passanger door that I left there, both as a reminder and because I didn't feel like spending $600 to fix them-- Not a big deal though, you can barely even see them, and they look more like little mud splats than anything else.
So right now the MINI is at the sound shop until about noon... It's been there since about 11 yesterday. I'm getting a full system switch plus insulation. Later today I might tackle installing the oem security system and/or my stebel nautilus horns.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back. I found it too hard to visit this website while my car was in the body shop, it would just make me wish that I was driving.
