R50/53 MINI Superiority Complexes

I suffer from many complexes, but don't think superiority is one of them. I didn't take this post personally at all, but I do value NAM to some extent. Just seems to me like someone moderating a community site should not be voicing a preference for one particular viewpoint or another. Doing that will kill whatever zeitgeist the site has going. Seems like a subtle form of censorship to me.
Agree and disagree...
Personally, I don't believe I have a complex. That said, I would never consider buying anything other than the mini I own because of my own vehicle tastes. I don't look down upon people who do, but at the same time, I don't feel any kind of bond with them. I'm just not sure how you're supposed to "bond" with people who obviously have such different tastes.
The traveler is the extreme example. Like asking Mustang GT owners to feel some type of comradery with Expedition drivers. I understand that many will see them as a "little bit bigger" mini. In my mind though, it's apples to rice cakes.

I think you need to re-read the first post...

Seriously, you think that a moderator saying s/he dislikes people who think this way or that way about their cars is cool? If so, then maybe I need to smoke some more.

2 cents from a big dork
This whole thread reminds me of some sort 'reality show' - like The Real World meets NAM.
Everybody's posts seem so interesting but when you get to the end the thread you realize this is just a never ending ego driven argument
Its like total insecurity from the first post.

Ya' know I find myself in agreement with XALFA... As long as you are not insulting why shouldn't you express your opinion? Why can't I say my 06 MCS is the pinnacle of all MCS model years? What's wrong with thinking what you have is the best?
What DiD seems to want is a hand-holding Kumbayaa love fest. Sounds boring to me! I don't mind letting people express their opinion... If I don't like it I can ignore it! Infact, thats what boards like this ARE FOR... expressing an opinion!!! If you want facts, read "Consumer Reports" web site.
Sorry... but I had to say that!
