Thank you for that "boooooo." I think it's the first one I've ever received.

I suffer from many complexes, but don't think superiority is one of them. I didn't take this post personally at all, but I do value NAM to some extent. Just seems to me like someone moderating a community site should not be voicing a preference for one particular viewpoint or another. Doing that will kill whatever zeitgeist the site has going. Seems like a subtle form of censorship to me.

Agree and disagree...

Personally, I don't believe I have a complex. That said, I would never consider buying anything other than the mini I own because of my own vehicle tastes. I don't look down upon people who do, but at the same time, I don't feel any kind of bond with them. I'm just not sure how you're supposed to "bond" with people who obviously have such different tastes.

The traveler is the extreme example. Like asking Mustang GT owners to feel some type of comradery with Expedition drivers. I understand that many will see them as a "little bit bigger" mini. In my mind though, it's apples to rice cakes.

Are you reading the same post #1 as me? If so, then what the heck are you smoking?

It may be the first one you've received in a post, but trust me, the majority of your posts that I read make me , and I doubt I'm the only one.

I do. The sneering and smirking behind your posts is fairly obvious. You are a perfect example of the type of online persona that causes a thread like this to strike a chord with so many of us.

I've been planning my next exterior mod series on my MCS and I'm debadging front/rear, installing MC gas filler door, quieting the loud S side vents and am thinking about removing the rear wing thingy. There is something very sleeper about the MC.

Yeah, I would rather have the MC gas door too.

Only the best that Humboldt County has to offer. Seriously, you think that a moderator saying s/he dislikes people who think this way or that way about their cars is cool? If so, then maybe I need to smoke some more.

Well, I'm a big fan of your posts. They seem to often involve attacking me, which makes them lots of fun to read.

I'll admit I do my share of sneering and smirking, but there are many other facial expressions behind my posts. I think you're reading selectively. And striking a chord "sounds" like a good thing to me, but maybe I'm striking a dissonant chord? If so, I apologize for disrupting the harmony.

I think that DiD wasn't saying that he minded having opinions of pride of ownership, but expressing frustration that these very same opinions manifest themselves all to often in pissing contests, in which one or both parties are trying to prove how closed minded they are, or putting forward the idea that things that are subjective are universal.

2 cents from a big dork

This whole thread reminds me of some sort 'reality show' - like The Real World meets NAM.

Everybody's posts seem so interesting but when you get to the end the thread you realize this is just a never ending ego driven argument

Its like total insecurity from the first post.

How about the "If you buy a MINI with cloth seats, you must like to sit in a reeking, stained cradle of your own sweaty filth as you drive" syndrome?

Ya' know I find myself in agreement with XALFA... As long as you are not insulting why shouldn't you express your opinion? Why can't I say my 06 MCS is the pinnacle of all MCS model years? What's wrong with thinking what you have is the best?

What DiD seems to want is a hand-holding Kumbayaa love fest. Sounds boring to me! I don't mind letting people express their opinion... If I don't like it I can ignore it! Infact, thats what boards like this ARE FOR... expressing an opinion!!! If you want facts, read "Consumer Reports" web site.

Sorry... but I had to say that!
