Tonight, I had an empty on ramp==time to open sunroof just enough to really hear that SC, so I rech the top of the on ramp turning 5000+ matching a Vette (for speed), they tried to see if I would push the car any further I backed off followed the Vette for six miles, and see the HP nab a guy just before my exit, realized its a good thing I know to exercise control on the public roads. Kudos to the Vette for being equally restrained, both cars stock are more than adequate for us to get in trouble. It's all about how you react.
Battle Cattle: the cop just wishes he had your set-up, realize he drives those twisties in a overpowered, overweight and underlit.

I play you-be-the-stupid-rabbit game too.
Years ago, I got stopped because this cop was following me for many miles. I wasn't looking in my mirrors. Sky cops aren't around here.

I have...he was in front of me and I was in 2nd doing 3k rpm when he did. I pulled him even up to the 70 mph speedlimit . He had an auto-box so it had to kick down while all I had to do was keep it in 2nd. Gotta love Americans who get an automatic sports car

If it was an automatic, it wasn't a Z06. Well, Lingenfelter did build one with a 7.0 litre engine that the owner had him convert to an automatic. Can't find much on the web about it, here is a link with a little info.

Clipping along I-81 yesterday off of I-66 from Alexandria, VA to my home in NC, I was "running" with the fast crowd. Not leading the pack (but I kept them in sight), and not acting as bear bait. I passed a late model Cadillac driven by an older gentleman perhaps in his late 60's. Maybe 10 years my elder. I passed him, left LOTS of room and pulled back into the right lane. He kept up and passed me, but cut me off. He slowed down, I passed him and again left LOTS of room. He did it again. I did it again. We played "tag, you're it" maybe five times and I left my speed constant the whole time. He finally got fed up with messing with a MCSC, and passed me like I was peddling backwards. I lost sight of him.

Fifteen miles or so later, I saw some flashing blue lights in the distance. It took TWO Virginia Highway Patrols cars to get him to stop, and they were keeping him company on the side as they wrote him a "greetings-we-have-a-nice-judge-that-would-like-to-talk-with-you" note. I passed and smiled to myself.

It's not just the young kids in the modded Civics with coffee can exhaust tips.

I don't think cops are totally innocent either. Two times in the last year, I've been next to a cop at a red light. Light turns green, and I leave pretty quickly right up to the speed limit. Both times, the cop keeps up but when I have to slow down they continued on past me breaking the speed limit. The first time, the officer did so just so he could get in front of me to make a turn (nothing was behind me). And no, they weren't responding to calls. Also, late one night I see two police cars next to each other at a red light. You know it, the light turns green, and guess whose tires were screaching out of the whole? You got it, both cop cars. Only to slow down to normal speed a little ways down the road. I asked a cop friend of mine about it, and he just laughed. Oh wait street racing shouldn't be mentioned here.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I must have been a base C6. Still, it surprised me how well I kept up with him is a straight line. He's only got 230 some odd hp on me...

Why is it that when people are waiting in line at the movies or the grocery, they are (most of the time) nice and polite, but when you put 3K or 4K (or sometimes more) lbs of steel and glass around them they behave differently?

It seems quite insane to me that someone would actually think better of themselves after "winning" a stoplight race. I don't know what it is about the mini either - I've had mine for a few months now, and I get more than a few ricers taking off at lights. On a few occasions I accelerate normally, only to find them waiting at the next light. I absolutely love it when I'm at a light and a ricer takes off, only to have me go by him at the speed limit while he's standing still because I have the next light timed.

I don't really know why these people just don't go to the track. Its MUCH more fun, and its a lot safer.
