As a nurse, I agree with mini-rolls...get an MD to assess you as soon as possible. I've taken care of many patients who were in accidents one day...seemed fine...then a couple of days later, were in the hospital because they had really injured themselves. Don't let that happen to you!!
We're here for you...

>>I have to say South Florida drivers suck, lived down there for 4 years myself, only 3 of them consecutively though. Don't know who's worse, the Senior Citizens in Broward and Palm Beach, those who are of foreign decent in Dade County, or my sister?!?!
Well, you're right... The drivers here in South Florida SUCK! I got hit 3 blocks from my house. By a woman with harldly any teeth no less. Usually, I save all my near-death driving experiences for my daily commute on I-95. Who knew some POS would run a stop sign coming out of a parking lot and cross right in front of me...
I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude, but I'm having a real tough go at it. Especially when everyone in my building asks me where my MINI is. I just finished washing her up real nice right before she got wrecked. Everyone saw me out there this morning on my hands and knees polishing all her chrome bits... Then BAM! It all changed. Now I have to tell my story to every flippin' person I see. I know this wait is going to be worse than when I ordered her.

The thing about a board like MCO and the CWFCs is that we actually get to know each other.
I remember TonyMaguire when he was a newbie! And then he became a very active MCOer giving encouragment and offering his thought and comments. And then his MINI arrived (aptly named after himself). And now this.
TonyM, we feel for you. The sympathy on this little thread is sincere.
Keep us posted. Why not go rent a Toy-ota and run the **** out of it?? Well why the hell not? We'll all feel better if you do!
And when your TonyOnWheels is better, think about joining us here.

Your kind word are greatly appreciated. You've been a great source of knowledge and advice since I joined MCO back in September. It's great to have friends like you on here. I promise I'll end my personal pity party soon. I'm still kind of in shock. I'm sure I'm going to be living on here until I get her back! Thanks again man!
Tony
BTW, I love how you plug your MINI meet at EVERY opportunity! I may just have to make a guest appearance

Tony,
Your news is devastating. Appears MINI motorist must be like Harley Riders; drive defensively, assume you can’t be seen and loud pipes do save lives. I had to practice those traits when I got my first MC (HD of course) when I turned 40.
Hurry back.

Tony:
After 14 years of South Florida living, including 3 accidents of my very own...I have only one thing to tell you on how you handle these few weeks (or longer --sorry)....handle it like every other South Floridian...SUE. Ok, here's the brief summary of what I think a good ambulance chaser should be able to get you...pain and suffering; lost wages; Psych consults --- I mean it is trauma to be without your brand new car that you waited for so long for...and then there is the back pain.
I hate to be the one pushing for suits in the legal system -- not normally my style, but you mentioned a "beat down" hit her where it hurts the most.
On a complete side note, I'm truly happy that my sis-in-law (mbabischkin's sister) didn't hit you...although, we'd give you permission to "learn her how to drive"
I'm so sad for you; if I had an extra Mini, I'd loan it to you for the time you are without...can I offer a sis-in-law with a Maxima?

Tony! So sorry to hear about your accident. I was just rear-ended last Thursday night (jerk in a big ole truck rolled into me at a stoplight), so I feel your pain!
I'll be thinking of you as I get my own little pepper white baby repaired!

Hey Tony,
That IS a sad story. I'm glad you were not hurt and that the beat up corolla owner had insurance. I've had accidents like yours that ended up costing me claiming uninsured, and $500.00. In TN, practically anything goes in terms of liability. Here's hoping the wait won't take too much time.

Freak accidents. It is good that you are OK and the car is fixable. Altho it won't be the same. It is good that she is probably totalled and will have to buy another car. Maybe she will pick a MINI...
Tony,
I want to add my voice to the chorus of others who are offering their sympathy. I've been sitting here complaining for the last few days becuase I have to wait 'til next week to pick up my car. Your experience makes me realize I've got nothing to complain about.
Hope you get your baby back ASAP.

Tony:
Do you realize that you, Motoringirl, and me each had idiots run into our pepper white wee ones last week?
Thankfully, last week is over. I hope you can cope for a while with this.
We should start a Pepper White Crash support group!

Tony,
Sorry to hear about your MINI. Accidents hurt worse when it's not your fault. While waiting for the repairs, plan a nice road trip. When your MINI gets back you'll have something special to look forwards to.
Chin up... stiff upper lip... have a spot of tea...
Cheers, to better days ahead

GET WELL !!!Little Pepper ...
Tony, I am very sorry to hear of this sad episode in your MINI experience. I know how long you waited for your MINI. I was hoping you would be making it to the Spring Fling in St. Pete on March 8/9. Hope she can be repaired real soon! I know how you feel. I happened to me with the very first car I ever owned. We will look forward to seeing you back on US 1 real soon.
Kind Regards,
Ron

I cannot tell you guys how great you are! Your support has definitely helped me get though the last couple of days. Here's the latest update...
I've been driving my crappy Budget rent-a-car Maroon Hyundai Sonata since Sunday (courtesy of the wench who hit me's insurance company). I just got the estimate from the body shop today... $6,500!
