Advise or Information request about the computer

I went to my Sister's this evening for Christmas, and when I came out tonight, I turned the key and I noticed that the outdoor temp had been showing a higher temp and was quickly falling. Then, I looked at the clock on the speedo, and it said --/--. The trip odo said 0.0, and the avg MG, Speed, etc, was also all reset. Also, both of my windows were down (like when you open the door and they go down, but when you close the door they go completely up- well, they didn't go up.

It's been very wet here today, very rainy, cold, and foggy. It would seem that the moisture somehow reset my computer. My presets on the radio were still intact though.

Anyone?. Anyone?....

I've never heard of this in a Mini before, but my friend has this situation with his new Nissan occasionally. As far as I know, there's nothing they've done to permanantly fix it...at least not yet.

That sounds like water may have gotten into the computer module. Do you have a sunroof? There have been cases where the drain tubes in the sunroof have been loose or clogged and the rain water runs down the passenger side A pillar and into the computer module that's in the foot well on that side. Check the carpet down there and see if it feels damp.

If that's the case, then I'd insist that they replace the module. Once it gets wet and oxidation is there, I wouldn't feel comfortable unless it was replaced.
