Jetta!

My previous ride, the bane of Car Talk, a black '91 Jetta GLi. Good for autocrossing. Now parked because parts were breaking on a weekly basis.

VR6, heavy.

I liked my 2.0l twin-cam. It launched quickly (unlike my stock MCS).

VR6 = Heavy

No doubt. My Jetta's nose would dive pretty badly under hard braking.

In a related vein, I like the way the MC launches more than the MCS. . Granted that shortly after the launch an MCS would be quicker, but even so, the MC is very satisfying.

My first car was a 1998 Subaru Impreza RS. I had it for exactly 5 years! I bought it on May 26 1998, and got my MCS on May 26 2005! It was not planned at all, but it's a nice timing! I did 200K km on it, and had so much fun with it!

Some quick pics of it :

At first it was red, but after being rear-ended at a red signal light, I decided to get the car fully repainted, with a custom color... It was red with an orange pearl.

Subies are cool, too.

Bud Calwell gave me a ride in his Imprezza, at another rally-cross. I videoed my ride, it was funny!
This is an action shot of my Jetta. Check out the inside rear wheel during turn-in.

My car before my 2005 Mini was a 2000 Impreza RS. It was a weird transition from going from AWD to FWD but I like both cars a lot for different reasons. That said, there are definitely times that I miss my Impreza. Good thing the Mini is good fun to drive!

I'm on my second MINI right now and just ordered my third. My pre-MINI car was a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada - Brandy the Bravada. It was a big change going from an SUV to a MINI

2003 Toyota Celica GT.
Got rid of it and bought a 2002 MCS.
Always wanted a first year, but 3000 over msrp at launch was too much to pay (that and a waiting list) so I waited 3 years and found the exact car I had configured in 2002 at the toyota dealer when I took my celica in for service....It was a sign...

Believe it or not, car before first mini was a 1989 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible. Gave it away about a month ago when I received my 2006 MCC (hyper blue, anthracite, heated seats).

Hyundai Accent that had been broken into and fixed with duck tape for a window

Before that an Acura Integra that I loved dearly right up to the moment it slid into a tree

Before that a Jetta, like half the world that I loved because it was the first car i ever picked out for myself.

Before that a S-10 that my parents bought me the first time they had to pick me up at college

The car I drove before I got my MINI was a 1997 Chevy Cavalier. I really can't complain about it, as it was a very reliable car, but I sure don't miss it after driving this little guy around.

A 1999 Chrysler Sebring JXi Convertible, dark red(similar to the MINI Solar Red) with black cloth top. It was a great car that I really liked-and miss it a little-but I don't regret getting rid of it to get the MINI!

I would like to see what a Solar Red/Black MINI cabrio would look like.

My husband sold a Yamaha FJR1300 for the mini, it was to be his 2nd car, his other vehicle is a '97 F150 work truck, I have a '01 Highlander and have always had honda's or Toyota's, didn't think I would drive the mini much, now he has to tell me to leave him his car when he isn't going to be using the truck , I LOVE the mini, I drive it most of the time , I really feel like I am driving a boat when I drive my suv compared to the Mini, I hope to be ordering me a mini within the next 2 years.
