Traded my '01 Audi A4 1.8T for mine. Getting rid of the turbo lag alone made it worth it.

Before the Mini? I learned to drive on a Mini.
Oh...you mean before the MINI? I was driving an 82 Cressida that I paid $1000 for coz I broke the engine in my 92 Talon turbo.

Z3

Hope to sell my 98 BMW Z3 2.8L soon, my Mini's about to catch the boat! Love the Z3, still runs good & is in good shape, but it's time to retire it for new blood. Anyone interested?

99.5 VW Jetta. OK car, but bought it as an automatic since the SO did not drive stick. She never drove it in the 5 years I had it, bought her a bigger car, bought myself the MINI

Drove a 1991 Mustang GT before the MINI. It was not that fun to drive because everythings squeeks and rattles. Plus it wastes a lot of gas and already has 165,000 miles so dependability could become an issue at any moment.

A dependable but bland Hyundai Sonata. I sold it to a guy at work just in time to sign the papers on my MINI.

the car I was driving before my MINI arrived was a 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette. It quit running the day I drove home in my MINI. I still have the Vette, and restoration has begun. The MINI was simply a way to get be from point A to point B without the use of a tow truck.

Red 1997 Dodge Dakota with a mean-sounding true dual exhaust on it. Sometimes I miss the rumble of that truck, but then I downshift, and plant my right foot through the floorboard and sail through a sweeping corner in my MCS... Wooooooo!!!!!!! I love my car.

2000 VW GTI VR6 5-Spd. Great acceleration, but a bit of a pig in the corners. Once MINIfied, I've never looked back.

Yucky Green Taurus that Yucca was plotting to get rid of since pretty close to the day we started dating

I didn't know I could enjoy a car so much until I got my MINI!

I've had this truck for 10 years. It's a '95 Ram with a 2000 nose, installed after I asp-ended a minivan (we BOTH could have made that light ) It handles pretty well with a properly lowered suspension and gas shocks, but after driving the MINI for a year, driving the truck feels like I'm sitting on a barstool on top of a refrigerator on skates.

First, I donated my '93 Tercel w/200,000 miles on the clock. The best things about that car were its trustworthiness, long lifespan, and it was a freebie I picked up at 118,000 miles - I do not miss it (heck that sounds ungrateful, not like me). That little sucker was LOW MAINTENANCE ! I think of it as 80,000+ miles of uneventful (but successful) commuting, for basically the cost of fuel and oil (used about 2 quarts a month, toward the end).

Second, I made the last (36th) pmt on the infamous-though-still-living Caravan, back in December, 2004. I shouldn't have believed the salesman when he said "hurry up and buy because 0%apr is going away" . It remains useful and it doesn't complain much.

And last but not least, I drove my MCS home from Patrick MINI, in the snow, on January 10, 2005! Stopped at a mall parking lot on the way home and phoned my MA since I didn't expect the STEAM I saw coming from the scoop .

For all the Odometer Watchers out there: today I'll hit 12,345 miles .
Tatt

Wasn't a car, was and still is a 2003 Buell Lightning Motorcycle, but may be up for sale since I'm not riding it very much, I had a utility car that I mostly let everyone else use, a 1997 Mercury Sable, BUT I really don't count it, never really drove it much when I could use the motorcycle.

The first car I learned to drive on WAS a Mini! My dad bought a 1968 Royal Blue 998cc Austin Mini just before my 17th birthday and it was my "learner". I'm now on my third one.

Trading a 2001 A6 2.7T, but I drive an F250 every day at the moment. The wife and I are swapping. Cars that is. Big change. Dropping 2 tons about 7 feet. Will miss that extra 400 fts of torque though.

Learning how to drive on my dad's '05 LY MCS ...it's more fun than the Outback, unless there's 6 inches of snow on the ground; the Subie goes through ANYTHING!
