For those who are wondering at the vehemence of my reply, rest assured that all the boards I'm a member of get this same response when they try this nonsense.

Mustang owners who put Steeda shift-*****, wings, etc. on a non-Steeda car? Rice. Mustang owners who put Saleen parts on a non-Saleen car, and then add Saleen badging/decals? RICE.

Camaro owners who put an SS hood on a Z28 and then put SS badges on it? Rice. Camaro owners who add aftermarket altezza taillights, or chrome rims? rice.

Everyone who has ever modified a car is a "ricer" to some degree, be it big or small, and we should never hate on our own.

End rant.

(I saved that to a word file for just this sort of situation. )
considering the posts and threads that Ive seen vaporized for far less, yes, I'm surprised this one hasn't been deleted yet

Actually, since the initial poster says that people try to street-race him, but that he never complies, I'd say no street-racing talk has actually occurred. I mean, who hasn't dropped the accellerator at a light before? I think we've all done it.

Again, I refer you to Wagn's definition

types of people whom lack maturity/responsibility for their sport vehicle,

Are you saying that the originator did not show maturity in goading people into speeding into the man? How does that reflect on all MINI owners?

BTW, so is this https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=57326

Rice?

Ah yes, I went back and reread that part. Yeah, I expect the mods will be along to end this soon.

Yes, I'd say it is. They're clear, and not what the car came with. It's purely an appearance modification, done to suit the car owner's taste. Not unlike wings, body-kits, and so forth that "ricers" do.

See what I mean about all of us being ricers of some degree?

I think calling people names is kind of immature too.

As far as Honda guys are concerned, heck, I race them every single possible time (now waiting for the moderators to attack me ). Street racing is illegal, dangerous and unacceptable under no cricumstances.

I should modify my signature and include the phrase next to both cars:

BONE STOCK *

where *= Anything I change on either car will be an OEM part

(i.e. SC steering wheel makes way for a 930 Sport steering wheel, amber side markers on the Cooper will make way for clear Mini markers, etc.)

I always run into those ricers too, seems like they like to race MINI's
I think I could consider myself an "Old School" ricer. Back when I was in high school (the 80's) I used to dream about getting a 4 banger to keep up much less beat the Mustang GT and IROCS (we called those gangs 'bros")
Back then, all we did was put dual carbs (or a six pack on a Datsun 280) headers, cam, (head work if you had the money)... but it was damned hard to get it to keep up with the big v8's
I had a 280z, a 78 toyota celica (riced out) and a 78 mazda rx7 (blew 2 engines in that, sold it to a Jamaican dude who had it turning 15's in the quarter mile)( LOL that was fast back then)..and a twin cam 16 valve toyota GTS 1985 (last year of RWD corrolla),
So there is hope for those misguided youngsters, they may become MINI owners one day as I have...LOL
Motor on!!!
