Nice job! Who did it for you? I would love to the same on mine, and avoid going to MINI cause they quoted me nearly $1000 (cdn). It's just, i can't find anyone here in Montreal, thats good and trustworthy.

a body shop did it for me
and the price is 900CAD it's the preparation of the arches that's costing so much. maybe if you could prepare them yourself and then just bring it to the shop for paint. i'm sure that won't cost 900 just to paint.

Took the plunge and ordered my MC HB/B on 05/06/06. Was starting to feel like I ordered that color combo that was an accident because I've never seen a black top on a HB Mini. Couple pics in here show how great it looks, especially with tinted windows.

Finally got a Production number but status is still showing as on order.

congrats blackhat!

cccm,
for the preparation did they sand the texture off of the plastic or did they fill it? I'm seriously considering getting a second set of trim or just side skirts and doing it myself (my cousin would paint in his booth)

I thought the same thing at first - ordered my HB/B on 4/15 (it's currently in the middle of the Atlantic) and then realized that I had actually never seen one that looked like that. But after seeing some of the pictures, I'm convinced mine will look beautiful!

they sand the texture off of the plastic first
from what i heard from the shop, it took them 1 day or so to sand it down and get it ready for paint.

ouch! I'll definately be getting myself a second set of side skirts if I go that route... I'm far too lazy to spend a whole day nonstop sanding those things!

That is the Avic N2. I did the install myself and used a PAC enterface to keep the MFSW controls. I wont ramble.....More Hyper Blue!

Well, first post, and here goes. My car is a 2005 HB/HB MCSa, bone-stock, since the car's leased. I haven't decided what I'll do when the term's up. There's a pic with some damage courtesy of a very slippery & uneven sub-division road, plus a curb... I'll get that fixed in July when I have some time off.

yqtyyz,

As for the first pic, ouch. That stinks. The second, I won't have to worry about seeing that as I have a pickup truck for winter driving. I plan on having my MINI in the garage all winter.

It looks replaceable. I didn't think anything of it until I got home and looked at it. It wasn't a noticeable bump. At first I thought I got off easy with tire curbage, but anyway...

Hopefully all they have to replace is the lower valence. My foglights work fine, so nothing electrical was affected.

Any ideas/guesstimates as to the cost in CDN $?

In my gallery I have pics of the painted interior but only my back seat is Lapis blue. I have leatherette in the front. I have a pre-driven car. I think I like it better this way.

I think a front bumper cover will only be around 250 USD from ebay... possibly less. that's all you will need to replace and it's a fairly easy project... should take only a few hours to swap them.
