I did buy a second car (just for myself because I could )
and I decided on a 2006 Mustang GT 5-speed stick, jet black with dark tinted windows and a red and black leather interior... and I really dig it

There is soooo much torque from the V8 that when you rev the engine at a standstill you can feel the car rock sideways a little.. and the exhaust growl is very addictive.

And it is f-a-s-t-! ..somewhere around 4.9 to 5.1 for 0-60mph. It's a completely different type of car from the MINI though, to be sure. I was so used to my MCS that at first I had trouble driving something with 300 hp, rwd and a stick... it has an entirely different clutch dynamic. It was very awkward at first until I understood it.

The Mustang is very nice inside, its bulky and surrounds you more than the MINI, but it isn't as refined in the smaller details. The MINI is more complex. Also there's no navigation available, and no Sirius either.

I do like it. I would have a hard time now choosing between the two if I was going to part with one!

I love the M coupe. My folks had one in Dakar Yellow. It was fun watching the C5 trying to stay with me on the freeway when they let me borrow it for a few days.

But same price range? eh... wanna buy a piece of the London Bridge?

If I got in an Elise I do not think I would ever get out, provided it was out on the road I got in one at the local dealer and my boss was laughing at me I almost fell down getting out. We were there droping off his Bentley, which for its enormous size is a very nimble car, but then again just moving something that big is a feat.

Ferrari Enzo, Carrera GT, or Ford GT, or in other words NOTHING ELSE!

Although whenever Mr. Hammes gets back from Bremuda I am going to get to spend a weekend with the Ford GT. Waxing it, and of course the drive back to his house!
His is Black with silver stripes. I WILL POST PICS WHEN I'M DONE WITH THE CAR! Plan on giving him the Zaino works,(engine, exterior, metal, plastic, and glass, (not interior since I don't want to screw it up in any way.) ooo I can't wait.

Maybe one of the new '06 WRX Sedan's with the new 2.5L engine. Those are right about the same price as I'm paying for my MINI. Actually, if the WRX held it's value for resale somewhat close to a MINI, I might give it even more consideration. Personally, I wouldn't have the tiniest of 2nd guesses with the MINI if only it was RWD or AWD. The ability to hang the tail out under power makes a fun car even more fun =) Just unsure how much I'll like driving a FWD car after driving RWD cars for the past 12-13 years. I'm sure I'll find the handling devine though =)

3 Series and STi Were some of my other choices while i was deciding on what car i wanted. In the end, the mini was the best choice.

I was looking for a 1993-6 MR2 Turbo or a 2001-2 M Coupe before I settled on the MCS, being unable to find any good examples. I do not much care for convertibles but like small fast cars. There are precious few autos for sale in the United States like that!

I always liked the 1990's VW Corrado. It was the nicest looking VW of its time. For what I heard, the car had crappy reliability. Too bad VW abandoned, the car could have well today be the "Halo" performance car for VW.

Good to hear they are bringing it back. While VW is at it, I think they need to kill the Phaeton...

Other than MINI... HMMM... Ford Excursion, Hammer or something bigger and uglier.

Seriously... Ferrari, Porsche, M3, A3

Final choice... MCS JCW.
