NAM to the rescue!

My wife called me about a problem with the MINI. Seems the boot hatch would not latch. (hey, that rhymes, anyhow...) So, I log on here and do a search, we try a couple ideas gleaned from the website and--presto!--problem solved. Now, she thinks I'm the man. Sweet.

Thank you fellow NAMers!!

Alright, so you can tell us... Who's really the man? Whose info helped you out? I'm guessing greatbear.

Glad you got it fixed! I think this site has saved each of us at least one trip to the dealer.

"the man" really is...

lot15! his advice, and some bruttish handling of the rear hatch, saved the day!

Some blue language may also have been involved,

update

for future reference, if the rear hatch doesn't latch (rhymed again) hit the latch area very hard with the fist. seems to do the trick. bring bandaids.
I think there is a spring or something that gets stuck inside the assembly. violent concussion jars it loose.

I do not have anger issues,
dan

The technical term for this is "percussive adjustment"
