Can only run-flat tires be mounted on those wheels? I thought I read somewhere in the owner's manual that only run-flats can be mounted because it's a special rim. I'm wondering because I'm thinking about going with reg. tires and getting an extra rim and tire for a spare. Sorry in advance if this has been discussed before.

I'm almost sure I read of people putting other (non-runflat) tires on stock rims...if that's wrong somebody correct me.
I personally would replace my 17's with regular tires just for the improved ride and reduced weight. If for some reason that isn't an option it will be my excuse to get some gunmetal wheels from the aftermarket - will help hide some of that brake dust anyway!

I have never heard of that. You might try posting on the wheel and tire forum. tirerack folks are usually pretty knowledgable about these things.
