When you miss an exit or two on the way home just so you can try to see if you will pass more MINIs.

When after riding motorcycles for 20+ years every day, YOU decide it's OK to sell the current bike and get a MINI S for awhile...

since this is your thread and you liked my post lemme tell you the story. In January, right after 2 weeks form the purchase, me and my wife deicede to go visit our buddies in Austin. It was kind of cold, rainy and she said, I wish it snowed here. I was getting onto to IH35 and made a sharp turn to IH10 West. She was kind of confused, trying to figure out what the hell I was upto. I pulled to the next gas station, filled it up, got my favorite drink "Monster" (actually got 5 of them), and got in our Mini and said, "honey, we are going to see snow". We did not have any clothes, did not worry about it, just wanted to make wife's wish come true and motor as far as I could. One thing I have to confess, after 12 hours of work, 13 hours drive was painful, but I was blessed with "Monster" and a beautiful wife sleeping on the right When we arrived to Santa Fe, we had a little shopping and enjoyed our weekend, both took Mondays off, and came back to SATX. MCS enhanced the fun in every moment, drove the car in rain, snow, frost, fog, did not say anything, just did the job. Hit 137mph, wanted to go faster.........

Just wanted to share.

Berk: That is an awesome story, and a great memory for you and your wife to share. I was wondering how you ended up going the opposite direction! You, my friend, are a true Motorer!

There is nothing better than a brand new subdivision out in the county, with no traffic, no neighbors, no houses, no people, private roads, and asphalt as smooth as....oh I drifted off there. Also knowing all the geometry built in helps too. The only problem...it only lasts a for a little while.

If anyone ever finds themselves in NorthWestern Michigan a little secret is M119 scenic highway from Harbor Springs to the Mackinaw bridge. Well maintained, beautiful, very light traffic, a drivers work out, and no center line, let me repeat, no center line! I shiver just thinking about it, one more time before the snow flies...

Yes, do that! I just met the San Diego club (West Coast MINIs), and they are a super friendly bunch. I'm sure they would love to motor with an out-of-towner.

you know you've embraced the motoring lifestyle when.....

You motor cross-country to visit your internet MINI friends every spring for 6-8 weeks.

You go to The Dragon (in TN/NC) at least THREE times a year, and you live in Los Angeles.

You have a lot of posts on NAM.

It's not a little secret to rallye drivers! The '65 POR hit that stretch of road at 3:00 a.m. About half way through a photographer was half way up the hill on the inland side of one of the 180s catching us coming around on 2 wheels.

. . . . . when you have added 1-866-ASK-MINI to your speed-dial list because you have called them so many times over 3 weeks trying to get your MINI properly fixed under warranty that you have memorized the last 7 digits of your VIN number and recognize most of the customer support people by the sound of their voices and know them by name!

You hit the 7-11 10 miles away for a coffee, when there are at least three closer (one at the end of the block)

you know you've embraced the motoring lifestlye when...

- You will go for an 8-hour drive on a Saturday but complain about sitting behind a desk all day on Friday.

- You check the NAM website before you check your email in the morning.

When you pass up the restaraunt your mini club is having happy hour (the one you planned) because you simply can't imagine stopping when the windows are down the sunroof open...then decide it's the nice thing to do to show up to our own event

When you make the turns into the left turn lane and you don't even hit one of the raised dots to mark the lane.

When your Mini burst into flames for no apparent reason, and you have a new production number two days later.
