you know you've embraced the motoring lifestyle when.....
......you go for a "wake up" drive in the morning, leave for school a half hour eairly for a "get ready for class" drive and go for a hour long "after class cool down" drive. Oh yeah, I should probally mention that I usually have three classes a day and that is just monday though thursday, I didn't even start on the "evening" drive ,the "getting ready for bed" drive, and all the other drives that happen when I acually have free time friday through sunday . This is how you get 20,000 miles on your car in four and a half months.

when you pull your husband's Silverado out of the driveway, park it on the street, so you can get your MINI out and drive it 2 blocks to the market.
You're gone a total of 20 minutes, 10 of which were spent dealing with the Silverado in the way!
I don't care if it's a 1500 mile ride or a 2 mile ride, I'm going in my MINI!

There are lots of great posts in this thread, due I bet to "new blood" in the NAM 'hood. I mean, there have been past threads about "you know you're in a MINI when..." and stuff, (and they've been good reads too). I just mean to say "good thread"!
For my contribution, I took the LONG way to work this AM to take family to O'Hare airport (MCS in "demo" mode, on the curvy ramps to I294 and I190), starting out EARLY so there would be time for letting afore-mentioned family DRIVE my zippy MCS on the way (they did great), and THEN leaving work in the middle of the day to RETURN to the airport to pickup same family, when their flight was cancelled... Instead of saying "sorry for the inconvenience" (and believe me THEY had way more inconvenience than me, due to cancelled plane) they said "...guess we gave you another chance to drive your car today huh" (I love these guys )..
Guess we're making another trip to the airport tomorrow AM, and you know what I can't wait.
a few Other MINI symptoms, just for fun:
1) detailing and other supplies now are an official household budget item.
2) you have said "oh yeah hon, that's just more MINI post-sale marketing stuff" one or more times.
3) good or bad, you have a "relationship" with your MA and/or SA.
4) you scan for scratches, nicks, scuffs, spills (damn cupholder) at any/every stoplight...
5) when you spot any of those you either rub it with your spit-moistened thumb, or grab the microfiber towel from behind the seat and take care of it.
happy Halloween,
