Isn't she awesome!!

I have to share...

My girlfriend and I own a 2003 Cooper and have for a little over 2 years now. It belongs to both of us on paper, but it's mine in reality. We got it because of me (although she took little convincing) and I drive it 85% of the time.

I started doing some mods to our car about 6 months after we got it. Some were surprises, some were not, but overall she's been ok with everything I've done with it. About a year ago I started asking what she thought about stripes. We were looking on-line at some options and we agreed to disagree on our stripe tastes. I liked the racing stripe style and she preferred the OEM style. I forgot all about it, the car looks great without them anyway.

It was my birthday last Friday (and the day before the 2nd anniversary of our delivery date) and for weeks before she kept asking me what I wanted. I told her that I didn't want anything, just to go out and have a good time, that's expensive enough these days!

On my birthday, we met up for lunch and she told me she needed the car, so she dropped me off at work and promised she wouldn't keep me waiting when it was time to go home. She gave me a call towards the end of my day, telling me she got a little held up at work and she'd be a little late, no problem. She arrived to pick me up and came in to get me. We walked outside to the parking lot and walked aimlessly as we sometimes do when she can't recall exactly where she parked. I asked her where the car was and started looking around. I saw a Mini exactly like ours, but with white racing stripes...double-take, it was our car!!

She was a "little late" because the shop that she had install them was having a little trouble lining them up!!

Isn't she awesome...we talked about the stripes almost a year ago...and she didn't even like them!!! But, she knew I did and still do love 'em.

See the new sig.
