One thing on resale value. 2006 is the last of the first gen 'new' MINI's. BMW is also controlling the 'flow' of MINI's to the US. That has kept resale values up.

Just things to consider when trying to decide how long to 'stick it out' before selling. And also consider buying new. If you're on your own, you're not going to want to pay $1000 for something breaking that would have been covered by warranty.
