New 06 missing options.

Well, in my excitement, I never noticed that the Cold Weather Option was not installed. I checked my PO and it was there, but on the invoice it was not. Someone at MINI missed it all together. So, I contacted my MA at Pentagon and he was mortified. He is in the process of contacting MINI to find out what can and will be done. His response to me was that he is going to make sure that it gets installed. Well see.

I'll keep you guys posted. I'm certain that it will get resolved. Apparently this has happened before and MINI made it happen, so I don't think that it will be that big of a deal.

what else is included in the cold weather package other than the heated seats and side mirrors? Shouldn't be too hard to retrofit. Hope Mini takes care of it.

Do you think MINI/BMW moving you to a warmer climate would be asking too much?

Hope you can have that resolved, since the heated seats is a MUST feature when you are in cold area. The heated seat is very warm and heated up in a very short period of time, and you will not get chilled in the winter

Yep, the heated seats are nice even in a warm climate. If your back is hurting after a long day, it's almost as good as a massage. My wife refuses to own a car without it now.

Cheers

This is not an easy retrofit with the heated washers and mirrors too, you may very well be SOL. Still even without factory bun warmers the MINI should have your backside covered.

Sorry to hear that... but I'm sure they can fix it. being that your car is brand new they may just switch out the seats with ones that have the heated option... and install the switches for it. I think they may even be pre-wired.
I think I remember the diagram on the realoem site showing the heaters in the seats of all new minis... just not wired. I could be wrong though.

and I agree about them being a must-have option. I'm driving my dad's new envoy denali for a few weeks while they're in hawaii and let me tell you... heated seats make all the difference in the world on a chilly morning! can't wait to get mine (with my new mini wrapped around 'em)!

If I had ordered a car it would have had them. One of my favorite things is to put the top town in forty-ish weather and turn on the seats!!! My TT had that option and I could run around with the top down until it got about 30!!

Once a month!? Even in Southern California I put mine to good use in the mornings...nothing beats warm leatherette on an overcast morning. An on the ride home, it soothes my back and I recover from the chair I've been sitting in for 8 hours! Ah...

I, too, left the TT for a MINI and am wondering how many of us motoring-type people are ex-TT drivers?

If Mini USA or the dealer calls you back you are one step ahead of me.

I was very close to getting a used TT before I fell for the MINI... the second I realized I could have a new MINI for the same money... plus have it hold the value I started to research them. the TT is a great car, but it just doesn't feel like it has a soul like the MINI.

You must get the heated seats

unless you live near the equator this is a must. Especially if you have a sunroof.

Sorry to hear that. Pentagon Car Sales is about a block away from my office, so being the squeeky wheel is not that hard for me.

I was told by my MA that it should not be a problem. He stated that it has happened before and they had the problem resolved quickly. So, I hope that it will be this way as well. Believe it or not, I like the heated mirrors the most. Living in Germany with no garage, I often find my mirrors covered with dew or ice and the mirriors really help to getme moving quickly.

I should have an answer Monday.

OK, so I said that I would post an update. I have already seen other threads about orders being messed up and it is apparent that BMW MINI has a slight issue with their system.

I contacted my MA again on Monday and was told that I needed to bring the original invoice back in as they had really messed it up. On the invoice, it stated that they had charged me 1500 dollars for the LSD option which typically costs 500 dollars. So the first thing that they are trying to do is correct the invoice and get it right. I still have not recieved an answer on the Cold Weather stuff yet but was told by my MA that this should not be a problem and then he slid the line that I feared in. "We could just refund you your 300 dollars". I made it clear that this was not an option and that they would be buying a vehicle back if they tried to pull a stunt like this. I want what I ordered and paid for. They have until friday to get me an answer. I starting to get a little mad...

Some of you are talking about the heated seats and your back. Do the seats have heating elements in the backrest part as well as the seat cushion part? That back heat part sounds great, almost as good as a good soak in a hottub on a cold winter night??

YD

I am fairly petite (about 5 foot and half an inch on a good day), and I can feel the heat from the seat from almost to my knees and half way up my back. Is very nice.

I got a call today from my MA. He asked me to take the car to Auto Kocher to see if by chance the heating pads were installed in the seats. So, I drove to the dealer (5 miles) and spoke to the German crew there. They informed me that the pads were not there and that they along with the seat covers would need to be ordered. So, back to my MA I went to give him the news. We both agreed that everything would have to be ordered but we are waiting to BMW to make the move on this. Unfortunetly it is a big vacation season here in Germany and getting things done takes a little time. I'm certain it will be resolved soon.....

Still no heated seats yet, but the car is GREAT!
