Good for you Manila Girl, they are both a really great choice. You are going to love it! Keep us updated on your order/indeterminable wait/delivery status!

I have a CR/W MC too and love it! I was always an MCS girl until I got Mosquito. My driving is mostly highway too. But, that being said, I quickly discovered that the highways I drive are full of 18-wheelers and I often felt that I needed more power getting on and off the freeway than my little MC could give me (downshifiting and all). I've modded mine out (CAI, exhaust, MTH, etc) and now I'm very happy and a lot of MCS's have a tough time keeping up with me (once I get going).

Some people have tried to sway me to trade the little guy in for an S, but regardless of what your research says, the gas mileage is different between the two. I average around 30 while my S friends average around 23. I was speaking to an S friend the other day and they were astounded that I could get 375 miles out of a tank and the most they could get was 290...and that's with my mods.

If you find that after you get your MC and you're having doubts as to whether you made the right decision in not getting the S, try modding your car (start with the air intake). They weren't that expensive (eBay rocks!) and made ALL the difference in the world.

Congrats!! It is great to see others that don't feel the pressure of a super charger or turbo is worth it. I gotta love the MCS people though, they are a good source for springs etc when they go aftermarket!

More reason to keep mine stock, and get over 400 miles out of a tank... not even on empty

PS, I've got a great home pizza recipe if anyone wants it...pizza and Mini's..mmmmm
Manila_girl, I got a speeding ticket with my Cooper and with my S, too. Both are FAST! I liked the Cooper's bonnet better at first, too, but now I prefer the tough little bulldog face of my MCS.

As for the pizza recipe, please post it in the Food ****! thread in Off Topic:

Mmmmmmm!!!

You'll like your Cooper....they are great fun and the holies are awesome! Love the CR/W with the white holies.

FWIW, it's all how you drive it. I routinely get 350+ miles/tank from my MCS - I think I average 29mpg. At Buttonwillow on Monday though, was getting about 11mpg!

Congrats on the decision, Manila - you'll love it!

MCS here. Over 320 miles per tank during a recent trip to Maine and back, 28 mpg @ about 72 mph. As long as you're paying for premium fuel anyway, you may as well get some zip out of it!

Drive what you like and like what you drive.

IMHO, even the MCS is underpowered. But I grew up driving big displacement motors with tons of low-end, so that is where I am most comfortable. A lot of the problem could be fixed with gearing, but I still think it needs to pull peak torque 500-1000 rpm lower (and preferably 15-20 ft lbs higher).

having test driven both, my vote is for the MCS, hands down.
