Service Engine Soon Light

I have been searching threads about this, and have tried eveything, gas cap, and other things. Car seems to be running just fine, but the damn light is still on. Called Niello yesterday, they say I have to bring it down there (240 miles) anyone have any ideas before I have to make that drive??? I had a Moss intake installed Last Thursday, and Monday the light came on, could that have anything to do with it???

I would take it to an autoparts store and have then read the DTC. then
determine what it is, either get it cleared or just bring it into the shop.

(i'd just read it, note it, clear it. i have a scanner at home).

Mine went on once. They said I did not put the gas cap on properly, but it happened about 280 miles later after the last fill. Took about 8 off and on cycles to make it go away. It looks scary, but means nothing (possible emissions issue)!

regards,
Red

This has been happening to my MCS. It was on and stayed on for some time. I called my dealer who said after my next fill up it may go off. It did. But then a few miles later it was on again. Stayed on for a while. Lately it has not been on. I may be nuts but I got my MCS in January. I didn't have this problem until summer. The last couple weeks I have not needed AC and it is no longer on.

Also I read somewhere that this is a common problem with the new MCSa. But my MCS is manual trans.

For the 2005 MCauto there is a fix now for the engine light. I had it done and it did not happen again until I had another problem that I had a fix on and neither problem has yet happened again. ski

They do have a fix for it now, talked to my SA about it Sat., as my wife is interested in an MCSa. Think the fix on the paper work he showed me was R-53.

any details of the fix? which DTC were you guys getting?

I keep getting the front 02 sensor, but there's nothing wrong with it.
P0130, P0136, i think they were.
might just do a MTH.

mine came on after a jaunt to 14,200 ft above sea level. must've been something with an O2 sensor. went off after 3 start/stop cycles. Jimbo
