I went to a Nuggets game with a friend who has a corporate deal for some seats. Great first row view.

Along with the seats, he's reimbursed for valet parking. So I pull up in the MINI and hand the car over to the Valet.

Go to the game (like watching teeth being pulled). After the game, we walk out. There are three cars up front - my MINI sandwiched between a Ferrari 360 Modena and a Hennesy Viper!

How cool is that!

I love this car and the way it makes people smile. I think the Beetle convertible commercial that shows the "smile affect" was ripped off by the ad guys from a MINI they saw doing it.

Just thought I'd share.

Randy

That reminds me of the day you, me, and Kelly we went to the Ferrari dealership. How great was it to see people who had just been ogling $200,000+ pieces of automotive jewelry (in the finely crafted watch sense of the word) walking out to pear into the windows of the three MINIs.

I do love how there is this strange almost kinship with people who drive these high buck machines as if somehow we have a mutual understanding of what a finely balance driving machine really is.

What a great car!

Now all we need to do is get some serious horsepower in
the little bugger. I was running around the track with a
Ferrari this past weekend and there was definitely more
interest in the Mini. Even though I topped out at 120 at
the end of the straight and the Ferrari 160, and that Ferrari
had that primal roar......
Although, thanks to Randy, my S now has the Magnaflow
primal roar.............

A funny thing happened to jceviche at our Dec. 7 SCMM San Diego Scenic Drive Run.

Our horde of MINIs were motoring through Shelter Island's roundabouts, and a chap in a Ferrari fell in and followed us to our lunch destination. He gave jceviche his business card, asked to join our MINI club, and said that he was dying to get a MINI, too!

Hehehehehe....he said he'd gone to Brecht (in Escondido....gets low ratings here on MCO) and offered to trade his Ferrari for two S's, but they actually turned him down! Tee hee! We all had good laughs over it!

You valeted your MINI??? Are u sick? I went to a restaurant last weekend that only valleted. I was sick to my stomach as I waited in line for the valet. Finally when the guy came up to me I said that I'd really just like to park it myself. So I had to wait a few minutes while the parked the cars ahead of me, then I got to park MINI. I put him in a spot overlooking the room we'd be in so he could watch us and I could check up on him. Boy I have problems.......

Greatgro, I have had trouble with indigestion at more than a few places where the MINI had to be valet parked. I've even had to step outside a few times to make sure she was okay.

My wife has contacted attorneys.

I usually walk to work, but my current position has an underground parking space as part of the contract with my company, so I basically just leave the car there 24-7 rather than park on the street (no snow, no salt, no 2 AM drunken hoodlums). The garage has those stacker things where one car parks, and then the valets raise it up and another one parks below. If you park below, you have to leave your keys in a locked box so the valets can move it if the driver of the car above you needs their car. I WON'T DO IT. No way. I used to be a valet... When all of the lifts are taken, I wait around until one opens up. I've only had to do this twice, never for more than 10 minutes or so. There's a yellow MC that parks there, but I haven't gotten a space next to it yet.

There is a reason I don't care about a lack of a valet key....the car will NEVER be valet driven. Period. I've watched a valet at an elite restaurant wrap a new Caddy around a tree in less than a block. Need I say more?
