Isn't it a $550 upcharge for metalic? Shame as they are killing the Liquid Yellow and no longer offer it on the MCS

Those are pictures of YuccaPatrol's new MINI. He lives in Alabama. Julie @ Classic MINI took the photos and e-mailed them to him.

I would have said Solar Red is darker than Chili Red, but I don't have the best eye for color.

I'm sure Like others have said, it's not my car, I'm just gathering pics so we can make color choices on an 06.

Right now our new car is spec'ed as a CR/Black MCS with the Seven dash and an Anthracite headliner. I think we're going to stick with that, but you never know. I sure wish they offered Solar Red on the MCS.

Seven Edition is starting to be delivered in the UK, and photos are appearing on MINI2. Solar Red looks fantastic. I would love the black interior except for the circles on the dash.

I test drove a SB/S MC on saturday and honestly didn't realize that it was SB until the MA told me afterwards. now in all fairness the car was filthy, but I just thought it was a purple haze/white that was dirty. If you look at a purple haze car inside it will look mostly blue... obviously in the sun it shows the purple a bit better. that said, the space blue was a nice color combo... but really kinda drab compared to HB or especially the old EB!

I wanna see the piano black!! Anyone?

Somewhat O/T, but can anyone tell me when MINI's started coming with a front passenger-side holly-$h_t handle? My G/F is a big fan of the HSH, and was disapointed when my '03 MCS didn't come with one.

It isn't exactly "YuccaPatrol's" new mini, it is his wife's new MINI. (he does get to wash it)

Here is an updated photo.

Yes, I get to wash it and was even allowed to drive it down to the DMV today to get it registered, but that's about all!

hmm ... I really wanted that seven dash ... but it think it looks too out of place now ... that shiny black looks too out of place with the dark grey bits of the rest of the dash ... especially on the door.

Here are a few shots of a Space Blue/Silver MCS I took at Keeler today, the only new color they currently have and it is already spoken for, this is not the Checkmate Package, but has the Silver Bonnet Stripe option. It also has the Chrome package option so the mirrors are chrome rather than Silver like the roof. This is a nice blue, but much darker than what the config. shows on MINI USA.

No Solar Reds or Royal Greys are in yet !

Yeah, it almost looks too black in that pic.

Just got back from picking up an oil filter at my dealer. They had two Royal Greys (one MC, on MCS) and an Space Blue/Silver. Also a Astro black with the silver top.

First, the easy part...the silver is hot on the right car. It looks great on both the SB and the AB. For me, much nicer than the white in many cases (but, hey, i don't like white mirror caps or the sunroof with a white top...) The silver offers nice contrast, but a little softer than the white. I bet the solar red/silver will be outstanding...

The space blue in the pics has silver bonnet stripes and will be getting a silver grill from a PS MCS that was upgraded to a Aero Grill. I think that will be a very slick combo. Space blue is very dark, picture almost a blue version of astro black. I will say, the one was in teh show room (kind of dark) and it was a somewhat overcast day, so the color was not popping. Either way, it's pretty dark. The silver top & stripes did a nice job of brightening it all up.

To my eye, it DID NOT look like the pic on motoring file:

http://motoringfile.com/pictures/20...blue_xlarge.jpg

Now...the hard part. Royal Grey.

ugh...what a hot color. I was so set on dark silver/black. Then, nah, every one has dark silver, and it's well, too dark. Ok, no problem, Pure silver/black. Very hot. Get some dark rims and an Aero grill, it's all over. And why would I want RG in the first place, you can't get a black top.

Ok, so you really don't need a black top...the sunroof just kind of fades into it. Don't get me wrong, the color is very much NOT black. It has a warmth to it that PS and DS don't have. However, it's no where near the brow the some folks were suggesting.

Put it this way, on a scale of 0-100% black, it would go like this:

2% Pepper white
10% Pure Silver
50% Dark Silver
85% Royal Grey
100% Jet Black

It's pretty cool...the dark plastic arches and stuff just sort of blend into the car, obviously not painted, but looking very integrated. I actually liked the black MC bonnet vent more than the chrome S one (i think!!!). And the R99's and the BBS rims on them were just killer. Makes me even more certain that I want to use the set of dark bronze Rotas that i have access to...

So, back to the drawing board on the color selection....I really thought i had my mind made up. I can not wait to see a RG with an aero grill put in...that will really be something.

enjoy!

Crap! I was told by my MA that you could not get the new bonnet stripes till late october build meaning early November delivery... I couldnt wait that long (renting a car till it arrives) so I ordered without and will have to add the stripes at the dealer later at a much higher cost ($350) and who knows if they can do it right with the way the scoop needs to be silver.

Anyway, point is now I see a picture of a blue car with silver stripes and I am picking my car up tommorrow which means I should have been able to order it???

Keyne, mine was a week 37 build finished 9/18 and it didn't get the stripe even though I ordered it. Looks like the week 38 cars got it. My car has been sitting at the dealer since Oct 10 waiting to get the stripe, they are telling me it is gonna be another 2-4 weeks. I'm not paying a dime over the $100 that was on the factory order, and if it is not perfect they are doing it over until they get it right. Am I ticked? Yeah I am, how much effort does it take to airmail a stripe to catch up with a car? It does not take 6 weeks to mail something from the UK to here.

I guess the dealer forced the order into the system before the factory was building them, and now the factory is telling them to order it through the standard parts distribution, which is not yet primed with 2006-only parts.
