Hi all. I just bought a 2005 chili red cooper s convertible. I had a question about the car. when i get out of the gas the car makes a thud-thud type sound. i called the dealer and they said that the car did that because the old ones did that. It is a great car, and i was just wondering if anyone else's car did that? so let me know.

 

all the '05's do that. some call it a burble. some call it popping. it's part of the character of the car.

 

The supercharger apparently likes a little back pressure. Hence the burble.


Or something like that.

I heard a 05 MCS driving next to me this morning.... sounded great!

 

It's funny, what with Mini having so many questions (and even complaints) about this over the year you'd think they'd create a nice flyer about the sound and put it in all new cars when delivered by now :smile:
