I pay $764 for 6 months with USAA... and thats cheap compared to progressive, geico, etc etc etc.. some wanted to charge me 1200 every 6 months...

I guess thats what I get for being a 21 yr old male with a clean slate... driving a brand new 05's mini cooper s.... I am also carrying full coverage as my bank requires...

20 years old, and there is no ending to when friends are all hollering going 'come on, waste him/her' every time some ricer decides to pull up next to me and give me a look...

couple of times, dam rice rockets would pull up next to me, one time this 95/96 prelude was revving his engine next to me... and strange this was WAY before any of my mods are in place! he gave up after about 5-6 tries and just waste me.... i said 'good for u'

about 5 km down the line, i saw the EXACT same prelude down the side of the road, with a white and blue behind him!

I like to get the "ricers" well anyone that tries to race light to light (illegaly) ready to race... rev engine and such...

red...

red...

green...

they go like a bat out of ...

i sit and watch

It so much more fun plus that isnt illegal! almost like "Apollo 13" the movie

there is no reason to race... or whatnot... I have more respect to the people that have "ricers" look at your car *** their head and drive off like a normal person... now they have class... and would like to meet them on the drag or the track to see what they can do. the street racers... well can be organ donors for people that get in legit accidents not self-induced ones.

My friend got hit by a drunk driver 3 years ago... basicly shattered both his legs... all because this guy lost control of his vehicle while "dragging" by himself. Its really pointless...no gains only losses... while i am ending this before I get long winded...

Sorry about your friend. Unfortunately, I know all the preaching in the world isnt going to stop the boy wannabe race car drivers from performing their illegal acts in the street but it reminds me now of when I was a wee, young lad ....

and there really was a "dead man's curve" in my home town. Being curious lads, we checked it out and it was one mean curve and not some title to a movie. Nobody thought much of until we heard one of the "older guys" took it a little bit too fast ... you know showing off .... don't tell me none of you haven't "shown off" you ride once in your life ... and

Yep, right into the guardrail, over it, and dead.

I hadn't remembered that for 30 years. Glad it came back to me.

Insurance rates certainly vary based on where you live! I try not to get any tickets any more, and drive as conservatively as my MINI lets me. For that I only pay about $230 each six months, here in Northern VA. But I've met two women recently who are selling thier cars to buy scooters because they pay over $6000 in insurance. One of them had five accidents in a year and a half, the other totalled someone's car on the highway and it was her fault. (An accident, but still her fault) So drive carefully! I find that around the DC area, I have more trouble with Maryland drivers in SUVs than any other. Once in a while I get someone in a heavily modded car, and usually just let them drive on by.

I pay over $600 every 6 months for each one of our unmodded MINIs here in Miami and those are the absolutely "lowest" insurance rates for customers with 0 fender benders or accidents. South Florida pays the highest rates of car insurance in the nation, because of our current crop of terrible drivers.
