[I searched for earlier posts and couldn't find any so here goes...]

I just received the second of two books on the MINI that I ordered from Amazon.com this summer. Both are a little light on the technical details but have wonderful photos. The two books agree on most of the MINI's (and Mini's) story including details on the Pentagon engine, tensions between BMW and Rover and the amazing Longbridge/Cowley plant switcheroo.

New MINI by Graham Robson
This is my favorite and is (sorta) hardcover. A larger book with some drawings as well as photos. Sweet picture of John Cooper with Mini #1 and a pre-production MINI.

MINI Cooper by Patrick Paternie
This is the one that was just published and I think the title ended up being only MINI. There's a different photo on the cover than what you see at Amazon.com and the title has been changed to MINI

Both books can be bought together for a discount ($28) and free shipping:
Two New MINI Books at Amazon.com (US)

I also picked up the Mission MINI music CD at Amazon.de

I did the exact same thing. My second book is "in transit" - may have it tomorrow.

I hate to burst your bubble but I bought the book "New Mini" from half.com for, well half price. I think there was free shipping too.
