As for people not liking the MCoupe, that is perfectly fine with me. The day when most people like what I like will be the beginning of the end for me. That is when I'll ask a friend to shoot me and put me out of my mysery.

Cheers

here's the low down as i understand it. i have a few track buddies with M coupes. the first couple years of the M roadster and the coupe had the 240 hp engine that was shared with the E36 M3. the last two years of the M coupe or roadster had the more powerful S54 engine. due to available room the Z3 M in either version only has 315 hp. it has a more constrictive exaust. i've driven both the M coupe with the big engine and the E46 M (the most recent M3). they share the S54 engine. the M coupe is much faster. it is 600 lbs lighter. the M3 has a 0-60 of 5.0 and the coupe is a little faster maybe 4.8 or4.9.
the rumor for the Z4 M is that it will share the S54 engine and not the V8 of the new E90 M3.
on a side note. the Z3 was the only M made in the USA. it's just down the road from me in Greer, South Carolina. the engine however is hand made in Bavaria.
