When the man refers to the car, he says 'The' before the title, instead of a male or female adjective.
"Robin, to the Batmobile!"

Coopers are boys and MCS's are girls.
Just look at their rears and count the number of exhaust ports.
Cooper has only one, so it is a boy.
MCS has two, so it is a girl.

Looking over this thread I'd have to say some of the females have male cars and some of the males have female cars and vice-versa! Sometimes my infallible logic exceeds my dubious intelligence.
And then theres Ini who managed to figure out Mrs. Peel was female. Duh!
Anyway, Dingo is a kick-*** *****! With a voluptuous bonnet!

My MINI generally stays firmly in the "it/the" category. Gender...or even personification...isn't something I think about much when motoring. I tried to get into it but just can't for some reason.
If I had to choose, I'd have to say in some ways I feel the car fits me sorta like a glove, becoming an extension of myself when driving. It's so compliant. That's what I relate to most. It doesn't have a unique personality or something like that...it just does exactly what I tell it to, and it does it endearingly well. So I love it as a car, I suppose...but make no mistake, I do love it. I swear in the evening light I catch a glimple of the sky reflecting in my IB Cooper bonnet...it's just so gorgeous.

"It has always been customary to personify certain inanimate objects and attribute to them characteristics peculiar to living creatures. Thus, things without life are often spoken of as having a sex. Some objects are regarded as masculine. The sun, winter, and death are often personified in this way. Others are regarded as feminine, especially those things that are dear to us. The earth as mother Earth is regarded as the common maternal parent of all life. In languages that use gender for common nouns, boats, ships, and other vehicles almost invariably use a feminine form. Likewise, early seafarers spoke of their ships in the feminine gender for the close dependence they had on their ships for life and sustenance."

Mine is definitely a female, named "Vanessa".
Maybe I was inspired by the movie "Gone in Sixty Seconds", where they had a female name for each car they stole, as a code word. So, instead of saying, "Have you got the Shelby GT500 yet?", they say, "Have you gotten together with Eleanor?".
There's also the fact that Nicholas Cage had a real relationship with Eleanor, which was not unlike a former girlfriend, (exhilirating, yet filled with arguments). There was a true love/hate relationship. As if the car was a living, breathing girlfriend. It makes sense to me.
I always tell people that my wife is quite accepting of my girlfriend, Vanessa. She's the only other girl I can be with. Sounds wrong, doesn't it?
But ask any hot-rod driver, and I'd bet 9 times out of 10, their ride is a female.

I swear I can hear them bickering at night in the garage. It could just be the cats, but I don't think so
I think someone who has an unbelievably fast MINI should name their car Dottie as in "a vicious life sucking b*tch from which there is no escape" I tried to get my husband to do it, but he was obsessed with Tasha for some reason

I talk to myself in my mini sometimes.
Yesterday i drove over 4 hours all together. Just driving to work, then out with a friend, took the friend around, drove home, made MORE plans, then drove out there, then to my moms. Gets kind of lonely after a while.
Otherwise, i blare rock music... so i like to think it's a guy because it enjoys it.

My mom borrowed Miss Moneypenny last week, she said she tried using the nav and got so frustrated with her telling her she wasn't on a "digitized road" she gave up and came home. She's sworn off Bond movies since

Her Rack
"What's Her Name" is definately a girl, she's been quite high maintenance so far. Lost all her orentation fluid this week and started wineing about it ,so I took her in and they replaced her rack. Came w/ a free attitude adjustment!!
They didn't do implants, just replaced her rack.
