Anyone wonder why MINI did not hook the headlight power washers up separate from the windshield washer? I frequently, especially in the summer, find my windshield dirty from trees and dust and such, and don't need the headlight washers dirtying my clean front end.

Has anyone successfully modified this setup to allow separate use?

Not that you would try this at night while driving down the road.. but turn off the headlights, spray, turn headlights back on.

I wouldn't do that with xenons, ever time they fire, takes away from their life.
Wash the windows from stuff on them before you fire up the xenons.

Yeah
All good ideas guys...but the headlight washers work when the headlights are on or off.

I get spray in the middle of the day.

They should not work when the xenons are off. The normal way they work, with the lights on, is first time the windsheild washers are used, then every 3rd time, or about 1/2 an hour after the first spray.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order.
