Our MINIs are just now getting to that point when they might need service or assistance every so often. I have read on some of the Forums that some dealers do not provide good service, no loaner cars, long delays, etc.

Let's rate our experiences with the nearest dealers and post them for everyone to see - this way we know what's out there and can join forces to combat poor service - and reward good one!

(It might prove important for those of us who have to drive many miles to get to the dealer and have a choice of driving 100 miles to the bad one and 150 miles to the good one - I personally do not want to leave my MINI in bad uncaring hands!!!)

My nearest dealer is Mini of Universal City. Heard bad feedback about them - anyone with the same experience?

I'm not sure if you've noticed it, but there is a new "Dealer Rating System" under "Features" section. There they have a list of all dealers, and a rating system, along with reviews... you should check it out.

I HAVE noticed, but there are very few reviews there, not to mention no feedback form those who HAD their Mini serviced, repaired, towed to the nearest dealer, etc. That stuff so far is only about Mini delivery.

I mainly wanted to know about bad experiences, and who should I NOW tow my mini to. I do not want to end up stranded for weeks without myMini, just beacuse towed it to a wrong dealer. I derad having to part with it, but the thought of it being worked on by someone who doesn't give a damn... Unbearable.

Well, if this topic is not popular, it will just go away fast, that's all.

gotcha... well then, people should start rating the dealers... Most people state how they were treated, etc... I think more people just need to jump on the band wagon

I live in Southern California. I did not specially order the car. I was looking for one in stock and contacted every dealer in Los Angeles/Orange County area. The pricing was all about the same ultimately. Some just added a premium, flat out. Others pretend to be selling at MSRP and then addon jacked up "options" that you must take. There is also those that have the mark up and the mandatory options. The least responsive dealer I dealt with (by far) was Universal City. I bought at Assael, mainly because I felt they were the most honest with me. There was a premium on the price but I got the car I wanted with only the "addons" I wanted. I also checked out Long Beach. On some 'on the floor' cars their pricing was great (but they never had a combo I wanted) then on others they go the full LoJack, 18'' wheel, etc. mandatory pricey addons. Bottom line in SoCal, the demand is way up and so are the prices and no two dealers seem to have the exact same car to really allow you to compare. I presume it is this way in every large metropolitan area, plus this is typical of how BMW markets its new models. I think you just need to decide value based on your budget and comparison to other makes.
