Pls help me find the pink mini!

I was showing my wife some the the best stuff I've seen on Mini's, mostly here on NAM...

But there's one car I wanted to show, that I cannot find anymore.

It's a complete custom job by a shop, resulting in an amazing pink metallic mini, with lots of custom art work, including a pink skull & crossbones on the roof.

I have no idea where I've seen it, but I could have sword it was here on NAM. I've been searching for over an hour, and would appreciate any help. I'm sure someone else knows what I'm talking about, and probably how to locate the pics more easily.

Thanks

wow, that's like a shocking pink metallic.

My wife and I are planning to get a MC for her in the next year or
so and getting it custom painted in a pink-pearl color with probably
a white top and white arches. Wheels will be S-Lites along
with a slightly lowered suspension. It will be after my son starts
walking so that he can get in/out of the back seat on his own.
My wife's been wanting this dream car of hers for a long time.

I am thinking about buying a 06 silver on white MC-CVT and
have her drive it as-is for a few years while we save up to do
the custom paint job. I think Im going to take it to a local
antique car refurb shop as they have some really nice cars
they rebuilt.

So it won't be long until we're a two MINI family here too!

I'd bet if BWM/MINI offered a limited edition pink MINI it'd sell like hot-cakes short term. The girly-girls would be all over that.

I hate to ask and I know there's lots of variables, but for the record...anybody have a guess what the approximate cost of a MINI respray would be...for a quailty job, I mean. How far into the engine bay does one go?

Several shops in the UK post prices for this service, but we seem a bit more timid over here. Would it be best that a shop had some experience with MINIs? I don't know many/any of those.......not yet anyway.

Tuls? You have the most hands-on experience here. Any ideas? Or just forget it (...I know you put in a lot of work).

Well the trick for the engine bay so as not to have to pull the motor is to go black...funny thing is no one ever notices till I point it out...

So then it's just a matter of pulling the doors off and apart...the bonnet off and apart...etc etc...everything comes apart more or less...you don't have to take out the interior..so that's good....although if you wanted to get custom upholstery that's the time...LOL...

the paint I picked out was a candy with a flop...with all the work plus the paint something like this would go for about $6000.00

The are shops in this town that say they won't touch a candy for less then 15k

There are many things that can go wrong with candys..."tiger striping" and if you mess while painting a panel you have to start over...LOL...ok it's really not funny...but what can you do but laugh...

The main cost of a project like this is really the labor...

and to anyone who is planning to paint the black arches/side trim....it is BEST to buy all NEW pieces...that have never had any tire shine or silicone on them...this is a MAJOR factor...cause they have to be sanded and primed...and yes sometimes you can bake them to get the stuff off...but if it doesn't all come off it can end up ruining your paint...

hope that helps...

If anyone is interested in sending thier car our way...lemme know...we are planning to start a mini specific one stop shop! Paint and Performance! anyting you want!

Chris

Given our soft OEM paint, and seemingly inevitable damage to the same over time, I'll bet you're gonna see a bunch of out-of-warranty (or not) used MINI going in for some major TLC one of these days. Why not go for that dream color? Then things will get REAL interesting!!! Good job Tuls...thanks for the info! And hats off to Stoopid Girl, Sprog I and II, and all the other awesome custom MINIs out there keeping the bar high.

So glad to see all this attention towards my pink little Mini. I am far from a girly girl. I started wearing pink years ago as a joke because I'm somewhat of a potty mouthed tom-boy and pink is the opposite of everything I ever stood for...then it kind of grew on me...and grew some more to the point I painted my Mini that color.

It would be very cool if Mini offered a limited edition pink but I would also be sad because then mine wouldn't be that different anymore ...of course then it would give me competition to find a new color and ideas so I would have to get another one
I do think pink would do good because no car company in recent history has done something like that. at least not that I know of
Not sure if I posted this one the other thread but I'll post it here incase people wonder what we're talking about (excuse to show her off)

He brought it to AMVIV 1. my impression was that he's not THAT into the MINI, more for the surprise/shock factor of this 6'6" enormous guy getting out of this tiny car. Though he did test drive an awesome yellow classic Mini that was for sale at the event. Except for the colour, Penn's MINI is a bone-stock Cooper. Still has the 15" holey wheels even.

Penn was so nice at AMVIV-1! Here he is with the event's founder, our very own Dominic (dominicminicoopers)! I thanked Penn for coming and he thanked me for the event! Too sweet!

I chose PH with black bonnets because I thought it looked classy and mean at the same time! Now, hopefully I can not only chase 'dem boys at the auto-cross, but I can beat them!

I hope that Mini does offer up pink, but it won't be as beautiful as yours, because yours has the custom mix with the metallics added.
