Everyone on MCO should get a monkey...I have my monkey. 2minis sent him to me for Christmas. Next time I see a MINI on the road I am going to wave him out the window and see if the other motorer has one, too!

I want to make a little stuffed MCO monkey. And people on MCO could have them and keep them in their cars. That way we can all wave the monkey at each other!

>>Normally I wave and flash my lights.
>>Most people around here that drive MINIs are very responsive. But there have been some that have ben real jerks...which to me is not a MINI mentality. This one time there was this guy who was getting into his Electric Blue S down in Canton. I was walking down the street with my roommate. I said..."Hey I LOVE your car! Mine is parked right around the corner! Aren't they fun?" He looked at me like I was crazy and got into his car and drove away without a word. I mean, seriously...if you are going to have a MINI you need to be ready for comments and attention. He was just a jerk.

OK, Lmini visualize this:
a monkey antenna topper! You could do something like a monkey in a WW2 bombers jaket complete with the leather helmet, goggles and flowing silk scarf! You would certainly notice it in traffic!

Can't believe all the monkey-love here!

Just so y'all know, I'm a children's book author and got a three-book deal last spring for a series of stories I wrote featuring -- you guessed it -- sock monkeys!! I used some of the money I received for my advance to buy my Mini.

The first book is coming out in the spring of 2004. It's called Rocko and Spanky Go to a Party.

I think as a mini owner is it your duty to acknowledge OTHER mini owners... we are family!

I like the ones in the unofficial manual.

The parade wave and the tapping of the roof especially.

I saw a black mini a while ago and drove near to say hello but his windows were tinted and I couldnt see the driver so I waved and drove by. I couldnt really stop cus I was on a major highway. The lesson is dont get tinted windows.

Do we need to get permission from Michael Jackson before we hang or dangle monkeys out of windows?

When this book comes out I will buy it for my brothers. Anything named Rocko and Spanky are all right with me!

Hey Liquid_Yellow....I like the monkey antenna topper idea! We should run with it!

I don't have a sock monkey but I do have

Tomato-Burd!
(at least that's what I call him)

He rides on the dash of my Yellow and Black...

(BTW I always flash the thumbs-up to fellow MINI drivers)

Mark F. I think you need to look into this whole monkey business. (roflmao)

Sals....hmm...I like the lights flashing idea, but the roof tap is really cool too. I just don't think many people would get that. I think the first time I see another MINI on the road, I will be too excited to do anything other than Flash the lights, but in the summer, the windows down and the surfin wave will definatly get it!!

Ok. Do you recall the hand thing that Kramer does? He wiggles his straight fingers while moving his hand back and forth - or something like that. Anyone with me here?

Try what I described and it'll jog your memory better. Stick out your hand, palm out. Now point the fingers (and thumb) forward by bending them at the base knuckle. Wiggle fingers without bending the other knuckles. Move hand forwards and backwards.

I think it would be abso-friggin-lutely hilarious to see MINI owners signal that way to each other!

I distinctly remember a girl in my latin class in 7th or 8th grade making this motion playfully to someone, and my old latin teacher being horrified by it and chastising her for making an obscene gesture. Does this have some significance that those of us born in the 70s are too young to be aware of? Or was my latin teacher, as we all sometimes suspected, living in some bizarre world of her own creation? If anyone ever made this gesture to her, she'd drive off the road! Her Chevy Citation (I bet she still drives it) could be mistaken for a MINI by one of those people who think it looks like a Pinto or a Gremlin...
