I had no rebuttal because none was necessary.
It actually makes me happy when a "dork" or "fred" or actually "most people" don't approve my style. Whether that is in cars (MCoupe and MCS) or in clothing, because the day when those people like my style, I'll be really scared. (Along those lines, do you like your co-workers white Ked's brand sneakers?)

Well when I hear something like that, I just remember to "consider the source". I wonder how many stylish looks and waves and smiles the Town Car gets around town...

I love the hateful looks new Mustang owners give me when my S is getting all the looks and their little pony car is being ignored. Now THAT's style

A friend of mine autocrossed in the late '80s and if he and his friends got done early they'd go rent a Lincoln and take turns driving it through the cones! Formula TownCar they called it. Hertz had to wonder how the whitewalls got worn off.

Most of my waving at Town Cars involves just one finger and something like "Out of the way gramps!"

The ignorance of the general American automotive public is mind boggling, indeed

and to the above, i add, when my son was born and my wife was going to transport him 60 miles each way daily on the la freeway system, we bought a used 96 towncar (3 years old, 50k, 15 thousand bucks!!!) talk about a lot of car for the money! to all of you laughing-this car currently has 190,000 miles on it and has required EXACTLY one set of brake pads, 3 sets of tires 2 serp. belts and filter/oil changes!!! on top of that, EVERY tank of fuel returns 24 mpg-sine we bought it and just checked last month on a trip to san diego! now, i wouldnt turn it into the topic of conversation with a mini owner as if it were a comparable car, as this moron did, BUT after 43 cars owned in my life, i now understand why limo/police/taxi comanies like these-mine is amazing. now that im braggin on it, itll probably blow up tonite on her way home!!LOL

When she goes it will be the air suspension....you'll have to drag your butt home. The air suspension is the main reason for the humongous depreciation of Lincolns. Bought my wife's Continental for $8900 with 53,000 miles. It sold for over $40,000 new. Every day I expect the air suspension to go flat, (4-wheel instead of just 2 like the Towncar). When it does I'll have to throw the car away.

Very comfortable and powerful car, it's got just over 90,000 miles on it now.

Heck, about every other car you see in these parts is a Town Car or a Caddy. The roads in OKC are so bad, I think these are the only cars that can handle the bomb crater roads.

But the really special Town Cars are the ones with the padded tops

Actually, practicing with soft shocks is an excellent way to teach yourself to drive extremely smoothly, since hard shocks will hide many driver input errors so you may never be aware you are committing them. With dead soft Towncar shocks the errors are plain for all to see from the wallowing through rough seas, and you will really gain an appreciation for being smooth with the weight transfer. The best drivers are faster with slightly less shock because softer shock=tire follows the road better=more grip--but it takes more skill to extract that grip (car body does not follow the tire motion as well). So when you get back in your own car with this newfound ingrained smoothness, hopefully you'll be faster.

Kind of like training with ankle and wrist weights for the big marathon.

Your friends 05 town car looks like all other cars on the road. I sold my town car for my first mini in 02. Wife and I got tired of arguing over who was going to drive it so we sold the Suburban and got a second mini. went from two of the largest vehicles to two of the smallest but they are a lot more fun to drive.

A town car? What is that? O yeah I remember. My grandmother's mom had one of those back in the day!! Yeah and it was the biggest and I'm lying when I say biggest Pos there was. Please!!!!! I would have busted out laughing when he actually compared the mini with a wayyyyyyy over priced Ford any day!! That's almost as bad as GM badging the avalanche as a caddy and charging 30 grand extra for rims caddy badges and what, "custom" Leather??? Please spare me. I would rether buy 2 mini's and weld them together to make one car then drive a town car or caddy. Just wait till your co-worker's town car is in the shop every 2 weeks. Then you can say "so how's the F.O.R.D doing" Fix or repair daily!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAH And we've had enough fords to prove that fact
