I read several parties tracking the progress of their new Mini and, enroute they actually know the name of the cargo ship. How do they do that? My Mini is enroute, I know its VIN # but I can't find the source to track its progress. I checked the Owners Lounge on MiniUSA.com without results. Marie

 

Is way out of date. There is one or maybe two other companies that ship the cars over. I would recommend contacting askmini or the dealership. I don't remember which knows, but one of them knows for sure. Make sure you recognize that the ship might be with a company that does not list the ships progress across the pond.

 

Call Ask MINI @ 1-866-275-6464 they will want your 7 digit VIN. They will know where it is.

Though it sounds like there is a new company doing a lot of shipping for MINI, if it is in fact being shipped by W & W, goto their website (check MINI2 shipping/tracking Faq's for the link) and find tha page that allows you to search for automotive cargo (sorry its been a while i dont remember which links exactly but its pretty easy i think). Your tracking number is your VIN number. Punch it in and it will tell you what ship, when the boat is leaving, and if you're savvy or persistent enough to find it (again i dont remember how to get there) how many other MINI's are in your shipping group and their VIN's.

 

This method of tracking does not appear to be accurate. The tracking information I recieved is indeed incorrect. My VIN# shows up as waiting to be loaded on its third ship when it fact it was already loaded on another ship and shipping line. Had to get the correct info from ASK-MINI and the MA.
