I was just looking into a new phone and a car kit for it and I stumbled upon a closeup picture of the nokia 6100 on a cradle with a big speedo and mini air vent to the left of it! It's hard to find, but it's there! There using the great interior of the MINI to display their pretty new phone. I knew I always liked that phone...

Yep. That be a Mini, and a euro model as well (notice the shelf instead of a glove box?). Good eye, SkAlex (I know I would have missed it.).

Of course, it could be Gabe B's Mini, which I believe had a shelf installed but is a fellow Chicagoan.

Since it is Nokia, I will lean toward a euro version.

I don't even think that phone's available in the US. Anyone have any recomendations for a good phone with a color screen that will look good in a cradle in my MINI?

Again, great eye!

As for my $0.02 on the phone, find out who has the best reception in your area and go with them before picking out the phone. Nothing worse then spending hundreds of dollars on a cool looking phone only to find it gets crap reception in your area. Next, pick a Bluetooth-capable phone. That way, you can keep your phone in your bag (in the trunk) and just slip on the wireless, voice dialing ear-phone instead. Very handy when dealing with your new 6 speed!

Another bonus: avoids taking up one of the cup holders (which are not friendly to some cradles if that is where you want to put it) and keeps it available for an iPod or the like.

One more final congrats on a beauty of a ride.
Have fun!

SNAP!

Hmmmm, could they have reversed the perspective in the picture? That is not too hard.
