I know this sounds like a bizaare question, but I've read posts & doc that give conflicting accounts of the warranty length (3/36k vs. 4/50k)

So what is the warranty on a 2003 Cooper S in the US?!

I assume the free service mirrors the length of the warranty. If I'm wrong on that pls let me know.

From memory, I believe there is a 3-year free routine service (e.g. oil change,...) and a 4-year or 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I'll know for sure when I pick the MCS up in February.

 

The standard warranty for MINIs in the US is 3 years/36K miles. You can also buy a warranty upgrade that will extend the warranty to 4 years/50K miles. The cost of the upgrade seems to be somewhat dealer dependent, but I think the consensus seems to be that it is worthwhile as that covers routine replacement of brake pads and rotors, drive belts, clutch, and wiper blades.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused. I found the on-line bit, and it is indeed 4-years or 50k miles. That's the answer I wanted to hear.
