Hi! Just wanted to say hello and hopefully within a few months I should be driving around in my own Mini Cooper S!
To stir up some talk, what was your last car before you got a Mini? What made you change?
This is my current car

Cheers!

Hello New Piney!

I had a '90 Honda Civic hatchback, which I loved to death, but it up & died on me just a few months ago. Originally, I thought I would get another Civic - like the new hybrid - but I thought I'd get a fun little car that I REALLY wanted rather than a practical car of which there are millions here in the Bay Area.

Hey hey, this car is worth the wait!

I've always dreamt of driving a old mini cooper but my reality won't ever exist as I'd be scared of a behemoth Hummer H2 plowing into me. Reason for me selling my car is to get something a little more tame because of personal heatlh reasons, but to still have a rockin time in the process. Yea the Mini doesn't have 300hp but it doesn't need that to have a good time! (although it would be fun:D)

The wait is worth it, especially when you hang out here on MCO! You can start or join a "Can't Wait Club." (Check out the threads....)

Cheers!

Welcome!
I traded my "family" car for the new Mini. I can't say that I have ANY REGRETS. The car was a Nissan Sentra 00'.

As long as it's big enough for a cooler, a bottle opener, and a tooth brush, what more do you need?

Don't drink and drive...just wait til ya get there!

Welcome Pineapple! I take it that was a nickname you got from the yellow GTI? Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what VW called the color. I had a '76 (I think) Rabbit YEARS back that was yellow. Well, the official name was "Banana Griebe" whatever THAT is! So "Pineapple Monkey" wouldn't be far off!!

Getting back on track here, I had a very tricked out/supercharged '01 Miata previously...before her untimely death by a speeding Camry....

Davbret, what a shame about the Miata, I love that color, kinda like my Silk Green MC! very nice. someone in my neighborhood, has one like that, and I always thought it was a very nice color! great looking car!

My last car was a 97 Jeep Wrangler, I was having some problems with it, and I was tired of driving it in rush hour traffic (5 spd) and also, very tired of lousy gas mileage. Although, my Cooper is still a 5 spd, I dont mind sitting in traffic at all! besides, its much easier shifting than my Jeep was!

Wow, some very interesting stories here indeed. That is sad about the Mini, but with a closing sunset, comes a beautiful morning and I hope the Mini has fulfilled that for you

As for my name, here's what I posted in the "whats your screenname" thread

I used to play back in the days of early First person shooting, Duke Nukem, Doom, then went on to Quake, Quake 2, and now Halflife TFC. I had the name Coconutmonkey while gaming and I swore I was the first monkey!
So I said hell with it and let peopel call me Pine, Piney, if they wish
