What's up to all of you at MCO. This is my first post, but i've been following this site since last June. My question is for all the people who bought, or are currently waiting for their Mini S at Irvine MINI. I put my $1000 deposit in the beginning of August and i still haven't received any thing in the form of a produciton number or any indication that my order will be placed soon. I went through Dave K. and he's an awesome guy, but i was just wondering if all you people that put a deposit for an S in August or later, are you still waiting for a Production number? I might just be really antsy cuz i was told it would go into production in October, then november, then december, then january, and still nothing. The dealership told me that it was due to the cutback in orders for the S. But i'm just curious if there are any other people out there that put in an order for an S at Irvine Mini as far back as August and are still waiting. Im just wondering cuz i see all these "can't wait for....clubs" and people put there order in November and are getting there car in january. Maybe it's regional and Irvine just has a ton of people ordering from them. Can anyone enlighten a hopeful S owner? Other than that, I dig this site and all you people really show each other a lot of love!

you can get an S just as fast as your lil' ol' fingers can write the check. I stopped by Checkered Flag this weekend just to see what was on the lot and they had a good half dozen S's. I picked up my S in October - took about 2 hours from walking in the door, picking out my dream machine, writing the check and driving home. Biggest problem was going back the next day to pick up what I'd driven in.
And I ain't been tempted to go back to the dealer for anything other than saying hi ... no problem-o

I ordered my Mini from Irvine BMW and got a production number, I don't know, within a week, maybe? This was in April and it was a Cooper, not an S. My car showed up in August without the sunroof I ordered so I got a new production number that day for a new Mini which this time showed up in late September with the sunroof. In my opinion, Irvine is awful - my salesman was Phil Macias - so there's no telling what the heck their problem is.
