actually i just looked at my trim closer, and it is in fact flaking off all over. doors and dash. i really dont want the dealer tearing my interior apart, especially the doors and dsah. so im just going to keep an eye on it.

I have anthracite trim in my '05 MCC and have these flaws in both the dash and door panels. I was horrified and thought that being careless with keys and shoes had led to the scratches, but they are definitely under the clear finish and the dash scratch is growing.

I will be requesting new panels when I take the car in for the first service.

yeah I just got my doors and all 3 panels of my dash re-done b/c of those cracks! It only took them 45 minutes to do and looks great!

I am surprised to read about complaints regarding the antharcite trim. I have had it in 2 MCS with no visual problems. Durability has been head and shoulders above of the standard silver trim.

Can anyone post pictures showing these flaws in the Anthracite?

I still haven't had a chance to get mine to the dealer. The driver's door stayed about the same, but the passenger's door now looks just as bad. My dash still looks great though and I'm hoping it will stay that way.

Well, I finally got the car in to have the door panels replaced. It took about 2 weeks for the parts to come in. It seems like the new ones are a little bit different, but I'm not positive. It almost looks like the clear coat isn't as thick. Hopefully they have improved them.

They also had to replace the driver's side down tube because they scratched it 2 weeks ago fixing my iPod adapter. I was told it would take about an hour to replace everything, but it ended up taking 2. Everything was done under warranty and it looks like new again!

It is a warranty replacement situation. You can PM shooler about it, as he has had his replaced already and he has an 05.
I had my panels (silver) replaced recently and they are cracking once again. I asked them to replace them with Anthracite next time. Still waiting to hear back.
