MINI not home!!!

Oh man.. what a day yesterday..

Took my car in for service since my A/C has not been blowing cold this last week... Dealer I took it in was awesome, great service and all. It turns out that my brakes needed replacing so had that done too...

All was well so far, until they realized they don't have the parts in stock , so they gave me a loaner.. So I had to leave my MCS in the dealer... I already miss it.. Not the same driving another MINI (specially it's not an "S", plus it's an auto)... Only good thing, is it has only 450 miles on it.., so still has the new car smell...

Well just had to vent that I MISS my MCS... but I know she's in good hands!!!

betet,
I feel your pain, man....especially going into the weekend. Motoring is one of the main reasons for the weekend, imo, so to be deprived casts a dark cloud over the whole thing. This may make it easier to swallow...

1) you got a MINI as a loaner. I've never had that happen. I got a Suzuki Aerio...twice!! Once I got a big 'ol Caddy!

2) use this as an opportunity to really explore a MINI decked out in different trim. Sure it's not your S, but I find that each MINI offers something truly unique. Have fun exploring CVT functionality...discover why some MINI owners love it!! At least you'll be able to add your comments on Cooper or CVT discussions on NAM more readily.

Maybe I'm grabbing at straws here, but if you're goona be denied your own MINI, ya just might as well get creative. Good luck!!

I've just been eyeing all the differences between this 05 and my 03... (driver side sunshade, better door arm rest, map light, "oh sh*t bar", etc)... Would be putting many of these in my 03 if I find out they can fit...

The CVT is nice but coming from a "clutch/shift" feel is a lot different or maybe not fully used to it yet.. As far as my loaner is concerned, you would expect that it would be very "base", but it's not.. it has the HK, DSC, heated seats, so premium package ...

I was supposed to take a 7 hour trip w/ my MCS this memorial w/e so I guess this new one will do... ... the dealer said I got lucky since this was the first week they are giving MINI's as loaners, and soon they might even have MCC as loaners

well just have to wait for mine to go home on Wed... what a wait..

At least you got a Mini.

My dealer uses BMWs from Enterprise. Unfortanetly, Enterprise has a rule that BMW's can not be lent out to drivers under 21.

Because I was 20 at the time, I had to drive this neon that looked like someone pissed themselves while riding in.

I was really jacked. I bought the Mini and was paying for it with my own money, and was stuck driving a Neon for a few days.

Yeah i could see that. I went for a very nice drive in a friend's '04 PW/PW CVT Cooper, and it was a very different experience. After awhile I spent some time exploring the manual shift mode...it was very cool. As a rookie though, it would have taken some time to really master.
