Just keep on driving and skip the stop for returning to work.
Call it a day.

I know where you're coming from.

My late night commute after work,on a fairly deserted highway, does help with stress, even though I'm focused on the road, watching for deer and other critters.
No other car I've owned has let me feel relaxed, even though the motor home is somewhat intense.

.There is plenty of wildlife to watch out for, being so close to many forest preserves and to the Des Plaines river. So far we have been OK, though recently there was a news story about a man who smashed up a buck, went home to get stuff to clean it up with, and came back to find a local cop swiping the carcass for the antlers! The guy, who happened to be a Scoutmaster for the BSA, returned to the scene to find the carcass still lying there, along with a local cop busily finishing up stuffing the head/antlers in the trunk of his cruiser.
The cop got reprimanded for doing this "on duty" and the Scoutmaster actually put the remainder of the carcass into the bed of his pickup, and deposited it on the front steps of the police station.
Always ready with more than you wanted to know,

Your point is well-taken, I didn't mean to hijack. I just got caught up in "stream of consciousness" fashion when talking about MINI maneuverability (sp?) having the effect of increasing my confidence and therefore decreasing stress. For me, living practically "in the woods", and not having asphalt/concrete as far as the eye can see, is worth the increased critter hazards. Just don't let me catch you talking on your cell phone when you motor thru Tatt Holler
.No matter the locale, driving my MCS makes me feel good all over.
Peace
Had a 2 show day today, with a 3 1/2 hour break between shows. So I took one of the stage managers for a motor on a somewhat twisty road with a 30 MPH limit. It follows a river, and takes about 1/2 an hour one way.Now I usually tend to be a bit spirited when I motor there, but it was her first ride in a MINI,and I did not want to make her nervous,so I just cruised along at the limit. After the hour drive and lunch at the turn around,I felt very rested.
I was pushing scenery around tonight like it weighed nothing

All is well here, despite hard work and sleep deprivation required,

Now, it's a much longer (but more attractive) trip.
