My MINI came with a full tank of gas. But what I thought was classy was when I bought my Saturn - before you drive off, the sales guy rides with you round the block in your car just to make sure everything is "just right". Then, he instructs you to pull into a gas station just around the corner from the dealership, where he shows you the fuel door release latch, the trip counter reset, and buys you a full tank of gas on the spot.

I always liked this approach, because it makes sure the drivers know about simple, but maybe not so-obvious-to-most-people things like making sure the gas cap "clicks" when you tighten it, and it insures you've got a topped-off tank.

I verbalize whenever they have my car for any reason, that if they put in gas, it must be 93 octane, and I need a copy of the receipt.
Man, since the mini requires hi test...if you cant trust them to put it in...dont buy from them. Have a little trust in people. Except if you buy a Nissan. Then verify...verify...verify.

When I bought my Honda Civic back in 1994 the salesman did the same thing. I thought it was a nice touch, except for the fact I really just wanted to drive it home and not get another lesson on how to fill a car with gas.

As for buying cars, I've always recieved my cars with a full tank upon delivery. I can't imagine a dealer not doing so. That would seem rather cheap and tacky in my eyes.

High Test.

MINI requires 91 or better. As 91 and 93 are available in North Carolina, it is prudent to request 93. Or, you can just let them put whatever they wish and leave it at that.

I for one, will have all the receipts from day one proving that nothing less than 93 was ever run through the car, and with its well-documented portfolio, its long life will be rewarded with the highest demand for trade-in value.
