R50/53 Flats and road trips
I have not yet decided on whether or not to buy the new Cooper Mini, but am really leaning towards it. It looks so damn cool and its so fun to drive. I personally like to take road trips in my car, whether it be to another city to visit friends or going on a dirt road to get to a camp site, this leads me to a couple of questions. Has anyone gotten a flat yet? I know that they say the are run flat tires but wont that just bend up the rim? Who wants to spend $150 for a new tire and rim and is their even enough room in the trunk to carry a full spare? Also being so low to the ground they probably dont have much clearance. Has anyone had problems getting over a speed bump, let alone manuvering around a rock on a road...I dont plan on going 4 wheeling but would like to drive to a campsite when the road goes from paved to dirt. Also...and I really doubt this, has anyone tried to take a nap in one when attempting to make a two day trip and not stopping at a hotel. Does the passanger seat lie back? Note I am only 5'4" and my last car was a 90 Jetta where I could kind of curl up in the back seat and catch a couple of Zzzz on a road trip from Reno to Phoenix if I got to tired to make the entire trip.
Thanks for any info...have fun motoring.
