Italian Job Soundtrack!

I was at Amoeba Records today and spotted the soundtrack for the original Italian Job. Has anybody else picked this up?

The opening song is a great Italian/English ballad by Matt Monro - it sounds a lot like Lucio Battisti if you've ever heard of him

Some of the other tracks (the rest are done by Quincy Jones) and kind of filler soundtrack score type stuff, but the whole album is worth the price of entry (pretty steep at $20 - it's an import) for It's Caper Time! I'm putting this straight into my 6 CD changer where it will stay until I sell the car!

If anyone wants a couple tracks from this I'm sure I can find a place to host them and I'll make a couple available to anyone who wants to "try before you buy".

Great stuff!

Nice find!

Pretty sure I'll pick up a copy myself. Gotta have "Self-Preservation Society" on the iPod. That damned tune from "Austin Powers" would be a distant second, for driving, but honestly, it hasn't even cracked the top ten..

Cheers,
Matthew Z.

I have the soundtrack CD. I think I paid about $25 for it, which is way too much, but it was one of those 'I have to have this' moments.

I really enjoy it!

I've seen it on Amazon. I haven't bought it, but I do have "Self Preservation Society" as my ring tone on my cell.

You have a drawing of my car in your signature! Also you live in the same town as Grumpy! Must be a MINI town.

I can't get that song out of my head. Maybe I need to get the CD so I can listen to it in its entirety so I can put it to rest. That would be worth $25 to me.

I would appreciate being able to download "Self preservation society". If you need somewhere to host it, I have bandwidth available. PM me.
If you have somewhere to host it, I would be most grateful if you would post a link in here.
