Mini Plant Tour???

Well I was thinking about a possible trip to europe this summer and was woundering if its possible to go to the mini plant and see where the little buggers are built. Anyone know exactly what city and country (I thought england) they are being built at?

Also planing a JCW tour while I am in the neiborhood .

MINI is built at the BMW Group Plant plant near Oxford in the United Kingdom. That's from the Miniusa.com FAQ's page.

The plant tour is well worth it! I just went about a month ago and it was the highlight of our trip to England.

Interesting note, my wife and I were the only ones who actually owed a MINI in our tour group. One other woman owned a classic many years ago, but that was it.

PM me if you have specific questions and I can try to remember details as best I can.

I went to the factory back in September and it was great, very . Be sure to check out the "secret room" to the left of the tour meeting area .

For the factory tour, you need to book in advance as they have 2 tours per day generally speaking (not on the weekends) and sometimes 3 if they're busy. All that is needed is a donation of 3 British pounds which goes to a local charity.

We also hit JCW (East Preston, southern England) which really isn't anywhere near the factory - it's at least a few hours away down on the coast.

Here are pictures from our trip:

oooh this looks like fun. I'm defenetly going to be going and checking out the plant tour. Looks like a great time. Would be better if I could meet my mini while I was there though.

I hope the JCW factory is as much fun as it looks. I would love to see all the cool parts they have available for the mini.

I wounder how much the turbos will change the car itsself?

Boy, am I envious ! I'm hoping to get out to England on air miles some time in '06 or '07. Want to do the JCW visit too.

Enjoy your trip!

Aloha!
