How to put the car on jack stands?

What i'm thinking to do is to jack one side up at the jack point and put the jack stand to another one on the same side....but what next?

I use this point...

I don't have these jacks, but I do jack up the MINI at the place where the stands in the picture near the bottom are located. Then I slip the jack saddle under the official MINI jack points.

I get a 6" piece of 2x4 and jack it up in the middle of the side skirt....

As long as you distribute the force, it doesnt crack or even stress them. Works for a quickie jack job.....LOL! But then you can use the stock "jack" locations for jack stand positions.

Now, the key is to find jackstands that will fit into those so that it feels more sturdy...

Will.

PS, those jacks\stands look sweet in that link!!

I've had good luck with the following technique:

Tools required: floor jack and (4) 2-3 ton stands. Bigger is not better in this case as it may place the car are too steep of a side-angle which may be unstable.

Make sure the parking brake is on.

Jack up the car at the front jacking pad. You'll notice that both wheels lift off the ground. Place one stand under the rear jacking pad, place the other under the front sub-frame near the control arm mount. Lower car onto the stands. Repeat for the other side.

If you need the car a bit higher, it's best to lift it this way in stages - never have the car on a steep angle on the stands. I have no idea how steep is too steep, and would prefer not to find out. When in doubt, error on the side of caution.
