Anthracite Headliner

I'll post my pictures later today, but I'm glad I spent the $200. There are few cars at Baron Mini where I got my car that have this option. I can't tell you how many compliments I've had from the Baron staff and other customers who have seen my car. Personally I think it was well worth it and would do it again, especially with the chrome line interior.

It's a trend. A fad. A bandwagon, if you will. Follow your instincts - they are correct.

I was considering getting the anthracite headliner as well... but... My car is pure silver metallic with black roof and mirror caps. The interior is black/grey leather with anthracite trim and sunroof with the gray headliner... and this combo looks CLEAN... if i got all black seats, then i would go for the anthracite headliner...

I really like the look of an anthracite interior (dash, doors, headliner). It makes the car look elegant.

My initial order included the anthracite interior. When I was driving home from the dealership, I noticed my current car had an anthracite interior. It looks indeed elegant.

However, I'm not looking for an elegant car. If I wanted an elegant car, I would have bought a mercedes, aston martin, or maserati.

I bought the mini because it's a fun car. The car exudes fun and freedom. That's how I wanted my interior to look. Fun, vibrant and full of energy.

My exterior is CR/B. I ended up changing my order to include the CR dash with the standard headliner. The CR dash has that shock factor when you get in. There are not many (non-mini) cars out there that give you the option to have your dash match the exterior color. There are a lot of (non-mini) cars out there that have an anthracite interior.

Each to his or her own. I think you can't go wrong either way. It all depends on what look you're trying to achieve.

If you go with the anthracite dash, I would recommend the anthracite headliner.

Hey Bill, I've got the Antracite headliner with a sunroof.

PM me, or just swing by my office parking lot (the mirrored building in front of Target on the corner of Montebello & Academy accross the street from Wendy's) and we can meet up so you can see it in person.

I personally love the way it keeps everything dark to contrast with the (in my case, blue leather) interior. No light gray.

De gustibus non est disputandum

It's a personal choice, so go see one and make your own decision.

If you like it $200 isn't much in the grand scheme of things. If you don't like it it's money down a rat hole.

Here are two shots of my LY '05 with body-color interior trim, no sunroof, and the incredibly wonderful, well-worth $200 (IMO) anthracite headliner. Seriously, I know it seems like a lot of money for a small difference but it's actually a big difference. Obviously a matter of taste but I'm glad I got it.

Thanks! It's nice that we have so many options available. I'm coming up on a year since I ordered mine--followed by changing the order many times--and it was so much fun I wish I was doing it again.

I really should get those airbag warning stickers off the visors, shouldn't I?

That is the exact setup I have inside on my 06 AB/S cooper on order... was thinking about getting the headliner.. but I figured the $200 can go towards other factory mods and would be a nice contrast with the silver top...

Can you have the dealer order one and do the swap?

I know Wangbat ( a NAM member) has tried to get the dealer to do the swap for him, and they told him it was not do-able. But don't fret, the contrasting headliner does have it's perks!

Thanks, David! The background could have been a bit better; I just rolled the car out of the garage into the driveway and shot it when I saw this thread.

That 10.5 mm is fun!
